I'm up for most pairings as long as they're done well although I love the crack pairings. Though at the mo' I'm obsessed with Cloud/Vincent and Vincent/Yuffie.

Fav: Vincent/Yuffie and my newest (also, very weird) addiction: Reeve/Yuffie.
Least fav: Vincent/Cid and Cloud/Sephiroth.

Reeve/Yuffie? I'm intrigued... how does that one work? What got you into it?

I Have to say, now that me and a friend were talking about it, that my most hated pairing is Cloud/Barret. I'm sorry if there are any Cloud/Barret lovers out there, but damn, that just wrong. OH OH!! And I have to say that I was disturbed mentally for a long time when I happened to stumble upon a Palmer/Cloud/Heideggar sandwich. It was one of those stories where it wasn't labled properly with the pairing...oh man, I was so mad.
Also Marilena, Where did you find a Yuffie/Reeve? The only time that I've heard of it is when I implied the pairing in one of my own stories. Do you know of any good ones?

Ah, Reeve/Yuffie... There aren't many stories about this pairing on ff.net, but I found one- and it was hilarious! Even though short, Reeve's personality was depicted in such a way that I it made me instantly think: "Wow. These two are made for each other!" Most of us overlook the fact that Cait Sith is a part of Reeve, but the author of this story didn't. Reeve was an awesome mix of things, mature yet full of life, sarcastic and funny but also sweet and caring. Responsible and irresponsible in a way at the same time. I've always been drawn to this pairing for some unknown reason, but this story -in its funny, light-hearted beauty- was what really convinced me. It's called "A Lady Ninja?" and I recommend it to anyone who wants to have a good laugh.

I have all those incomplete WiPs and still I feel like I'm going to chew on my fingers and swallow them whole unless I write a Reeve/Yuffie fic soon.
...And that is a really disturbing feeling.

I enjoy pairings because people can really stretch romance to its absolute limits of believability. Frankly, under no condition would Reeve try anything with Yuffie, period. That has a chance of happening that is equivalent with the Palmer/Anybody pairings. But there is a pairing I still enjoy that does have a quirky chance of success. It is Aerith/Nanaki.
Being the sly devil she is, Marilena has always wondered when I'd break my shy cycle and go for it. My preference towards women includes someone deeply feminine, and Aerith is up there with the girly-girls. Finally, the big thing about Red is the fact that he is a stiff, a nerd, a dork, a geek, a total tool.
So am I.
Stick-in-the-mud denotes a very uptight, proper, intellectual gentleman who's sexually frustrated. Sir Auron is one, Nanaki another. Both are furious warriors who can stare you down cold when they get very p****d. They're geeks. Nerds. They're terribly focused at what they do, and they're also very wise.
Considering I'm in like company with a preference towards girly-girls, I safely conclude that Aerith is dead meat if Nanaki got horny. She did stroke his nose, treating him like a child... but he just loved the attention. If Nanaki thinks like stiffs (me), then getting over personal shyness would probably doom the flower girl.
Is this plausible?
No.
But it makes for wonderful theater. Think of what Hojo (sadistically) tried doing: breeding the endangered species. Aerith hated that guy's guts after that, but if you really think about it, bestiality would be a big source of comedy. Just imply... no actual lemons. Think relationship comedy. Howling in the night, sniffing flowers, that sort of thing.
...You all want me dead now. I'll shut up.

Haha, Ronin dear, Aerith/Nanaki is bestiality, you know. Nanaki may be a creature of admirable intelligence, but he just happens to have an extra pair of legs, a flaming tail, and really sharp teeth. Lemon may be only implied, but it's still *there* in a relationship. I shudder at the mere thought of what could happen to Yuffie's poor throat from Nanaki's "gentle" bites. XD As for Reeve/Yuffie, it is unusual, I know, but certainly way more credible than Vincent/Yuffie, and this comes from a Yuffentine fanatic. Let's not forget that Reeve is 38 (considerably younger than Vincent), he is the one behind Cait Sith, which makes him very mischievous and immature at heart -or at least we know for sure that this part of him does exist. Also, Yuffie is legal (19) and the age difference, frankly, isn't that big. ;D Besides, you might not like Yuffie for her tomboy-ish looks, but we can't really know Reeve's preferences, right? Edit: I'm glad you liked it, Ezriee! I wish there were more fics like that.

Ronin, I wouldn't describe Nanaki as a geek at all (and I speak as a self proclaimed, unashamed uber-nerd) He's strong and powerful, and doesn't seem shy either. Also, have you considered that it's doubtful that Nanaki would have feelings for someone outside his species?

That has a chance of happening that is equivalent with the Palmer/Anybody pairings. Hey, you never know, Palmer might have had a wife somewhere. XD I mean, if nothing else, he does have a lot of money going for him, being an Executive and all. Um, no, I have to agree with leaf here. I really don't think he's like this at all. Red is quiet but there's no indication that he's shy - more aloof. Actually, if I was going to pick a FFVII character who fitted this description, I'd say that Vincent comes the closest. I think that Vincent/Aerith is quite a plausible pairing in terms of personality, though I doubt you could fit it into canon. Aerith/Nanaki would only happen with Hojo's interference and I shudder at the mere thought.

I agree with the Nanaki/Aerith. The only time I can see that happening is if it's au and of course, Nanaki had a human body. I like his personality, To me, he would be the voice of reason. Vincent/Aerith...I haven't seen many of them at all but I have plans to write one. With all my other projects going on and starting a new job, I really don't have as much time as I would like in order to write... I like Cloud/Yuffie too Not a lot of people like them together, but I do!
