Something you need to know when writing your fic? Whether it's confusion over something in canon or you need to know something else for your writing, ask here.

It'd be pretty interesting if someone could actually craft character bios according to a formula and list somewhere between five to ten traits--either positive or negative--that illustrates their heroic stature (like in Valkyrie Profile). Another method is to objectively write up a D&D character stat sheet. In either form, you'd list three situations, and describe the character's reactions (just so that nobody ends up doing something crack without knowing firsthand).
If someone would take that up, I'd request a handy-dandy Aerith Stat Sheet (since she's a major player in my other fan-fiction).

I'd like to ask about Marlene's age in AC. I need it for a fic set post AC, and how many years after AC it takes place depends on Marlene's age... ^^" Oh, and if anyone can estimate Denzel's age, that'd be awesome too!
Thank you!

Marlene is four in FFVII and six in AC. I think that Denzel is ten in AC, but I'm not as certain about that.

Yep, Denzel's 10, says so in Case of Denzel.

Resurrecting old threads! And falling back onto the face of the earth for a bit! (Hi again, guys!)
Okay, so, here's the thing. I need some FFX help. (I finally managed to branch out of my FFVII box.)
I swear I remember Auron saying something along the lines of "Spira has no children." But then I was like, wait, maybe that's just from a fanfic I read. So then I started researching it, but no luck with any of the scripts I've found.
So. Am I just delusional, or did Auron (or any character for that matter?) actually say something like that, and if so, when? Any help would be AMAZINGLY appreciated. Seriously. I'll put you in the author's note. And you know it's true love when you end up in those.

I don't remember him ever saying anything like that. Sorry I can't help you more than that.

It must have been a fanfic. I've played X enough that I can recite the characters' lines as they deliver them and Auron never says anything about Spira having no children. There are also, if you pay attention, a ton of child NPCs running around in different places in Spira.

Well, the line was more of a metaphor, meaning that even children have this sense of doom and death hanging over their heads. But yeah, I think you're right--I must have either made that up or read it elsewhere. Thanks guys! Now I can get on with my life (and the writin')!

Hm, I actually think I remember reading it in a fic once... could it have been Soldier of Spira? (Hah, just goes to show how good the characterization is in that story if you confused it for something he actually says in the game!)

Does anyone know when Rikku's mother died in Final Fantasy X? About what time? Before game or during or what?
Or am I just imagining that she was dead in the first place?

She was dead, and it was when Rikku was younger. I'm trying to remember when, but it's not coming to me.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rikku Might have been here. "Her mother never appears in the game, however, as she tells Tidus that she was killed by a rampaging machina some time after Rikku's birth[1][2]. Rikku also spoke with him about how she herself wanted more younger siblings – which was made impossible because of her mother's death – and that she plans to have lots of children when she marries so that they will never have to feel alone[3]."

Oh, man, thank you, Costa! That's JUST what I needed to know.
I really need to play the game again, so I can scour for any and every detail that has to do with Rikku's background and Auron's past life -- including Braska and Jecht as people. Yay, research!
