Heheh, if you want to scour the game for anything and everything pertaining to Auron's past like, you're going to have to defeat a couple o' Dark Aeons, there. 'Cause the Jecht Sphere in Besaid, unless I'm very much mistaken, is inaccessible until you defeat Dark Valefor. *cries*

The American version of FFX does not include the Dark Aeons. Just the International version (this makes me sad as I would LOVE to beat them).

The dark aeons? Wait, the last battle there are dark aeons... No, not those. Dark Aeons are optional bosses you can fight outside most of the villages in that time before the end of the game where you can do side-quests. The problem is that they aren't in the American version, just the Japanese and International versions. Makes me sad.

NO WAI?! You don't have the dark aeons? That's trippy, I hate those mo-fos with a passion. The last battle was like taking candy from a baby, and I can barely get a hit on the easiest of them >.<
Suck.

Wanna trade? You can come here and play my crappy easy American version, and my OCD obsession to beat everything in the game can be fixed by me going there and hiding out at your place while I beat them. Haha. If I had the money I'd import the International version and a PS2 that could play it. But alas, I do not.

(reads this as 'come and live in my house fear, I have cookies!) The discs are reigonalised, but eh, why not I get fed up and lose interest in 100% completion, I'll go for it sometimes, but unless I've got a guide right in front of me, preferably with pictures, then I get fed up.

HALP PLZ.
Alrighty, so, I'm writing a Yuffentine of epic proportions that focuses around Lucrecia's thesis on Chaos. I've come to a part where I automatically assumed that, in AC, the monsters that attack Cloud when he's on Fenrir are normal monsters. Then I got to thinking - Kadaj called them on and off of Cloud. Are normal monsters made of shadow-dust-stuff, or were the things that attacked Cloud Jenova-spawn or something? Did you interpret them as normal monsters, or something else?

Me, I interpreted them as extrusions of Jenova's infection of the Lifestream. But maybe I'm just full of crap.

Yar, I also saw them as Jenova-controlled (and therefore Kadaj -controlled) thingers from the Lifestream.

Weren't the shadow creeper monster things part of the "bad" part of the Lifestream--like, when Sephiroth later summoned the dark clouds in the movie? I thought that was him showing his control on the part of the Lifestream contaminated with Jenova--and that that's where the creatures Kadaj summoned were from... I could be totally wrong. I seem to remember seeing an explanation like that somewhere.

Well, I always thought the Shadow Creepers were extensions of Kadaj and gang, seeing as how they only popped into existence around them and took their commands. And since the SHM are searching for Jenova cells, I always thought they were separate from the Lifestream, where the cells are. (Besides the Geostigma infected folks.) I think the SHM are supposed to be just manifestations of Sephiroth's will, because once combined with the cells **spoilers, I guess** Reunion took place and Sephiroth came back into existence.
But uh, the whole thing never made a heckofalotta sense to me. How does pure will walk around shooting guns?

It's final fantasy, NRG. Just let it go. :p
I'm with Qwi on this one. I thought they were manifestations of tainted lifestream and good ol' Seph's will. Like the ominous clouds or Kadaj's dirty water.
You might want to try this FAQ, La. It's pretty good. :D

you know why it doesn't make any sense? because it's advent children, that's why. advent children was basically Square going "look what we can do with our graphics that you other gaming companies can't, kekekeke." but they made a ton of money on it, so now they've decided to actually come up with explanations for all the random crap they put in the movie in order to make more money. those clever little fiends... >.> <.<
please don't kill me square, I really do love you

I thought it made sense...
It's will. Will is powerful. (Why you think people in general are like "HEY~! HEY ***** we're still here! TAKE DAT! ****!") It's powerful enough to even manifest in a physical body if need, or want, be. Provided there's a base for it to develop off of or something...i.e., Sephiroth, tainted Lifestream, so on and so forth. It's like gods with avatars. You gotta conquerinteract with the world around you somehow...y'know, that isn't like a natural disaster when you're just trying to push somebody in the mud or scuff their boots. Or spit on their neck. Things like that.
Or you could always go the route of bodily/spiritual/whatever possession... But it's not as cool depending on the body. Limitations and all that...gotta be really choosy so you don't slip up much, if at all.
...whatever.
