Sorry, it's just Yuna was the lead protagonist in FFX-2 and I've never really used the term Heroine ever since I heard the word spoken aloud. Naming a person after a drug? Ok I know the drug name is more recent than the heroic name, but still ...
Besides Hero can be applied to female protagonists, just like a female divinity can technically be called a God as much as a Goddess.
And in my defence, earlier on someone did bring up Terra from FF6 *points then runs off in opposite direction*

Haha, you made a very convincing argument, though, Dahhak. I made this thread because I wanted to differentiate between the male and female heroes. Both have strong roles, but they tend to be quite different ones from the other.
Sorry I haven't made the thread yet! It's one of those things you remember when you don't have the opportunity to do it. As soon as I get on here, though, I completely forget! ;D I'll get right to it! *nods*

Was tossing up between Tidus, Cloud and Zack.
Tidus won, just cause he's such a genuine guy. As it has been said, he risks his life to save a world thats not his own, and that last bit when he's ghosting and hugs Yuna is just so cute and sad at the same time.
Alsp, he has to contend with his feelings for his Dad, which I think is an aspect of Tidus that many people overlook. In the begining, we see him (albiet resentfully) trying to live up to his fathers expectations. Then he comes to Spira and starts discovering a different side to Ject that he never knew. Then, it just so happens that Ject is now SIN! The very entity he is trying to destroy.
So yes, he gets my vote.

I voted for Cloud because he is in fact the opposite of a hero. He's short in stature, not very imposing in terms of looks. He doesn't want to stick his nose in and save everyone from every danger that comes along- he wanted nothing to do with the fight for The Planet and yet found himself inextricably bound up in it nonetheless. He's more of a coward than a stereotypical hero and that's what makes him human and easy to identify with. Guys can look at him and see some aspect of Cloud in themselves and yet can always aspire more....maybe he's such a great hero because he is irrefutably realistic.

Zack. He died to be a hero, died to save a friend, rather than the world. Which, by the way, means that Zack had one of the biggest hands in saving the world. Almost as much as Aeris, I dare say.

Can you imagine if Zack had made it back, and it was him not Cloud who got caught up with Avalance... Or they both did together, but Zack would be the main character... Man I'd play that game! Or read that fic... Or possibly write that fic... hmmmmmmm....

Here : www.fanfiction.net/s/3817568/1/TenacityIt's my baby, but I should warn you now, that it's shonen-ai/probably borderline yaoi once I get up to those parts. I've been working on it for six months and unwinding fantasty has been betaing it for me. I love her oodles. It's going to be very, very, very long, so just a warning about that. Already 166k words and I haven't even gotten out of Junon... the first time. Just finished with the parade, actually. Or, well, part of the parade.

(Pssst, that fanfic's amazing <3<3)
Although I love Zack, Cloud, and Squall, Tidus totally won it.
He was just so human, so strong when he was thrust into a world that wasn't his own when he had to battle his father as well as his feelings towards his father, when he didn't have to do anything that he did, that I fell in love with his character immediately.

*Blushes* Thank you Sakura. Anyway, I understand why you'd like Tidus. He was an interesting character, and pretty easy to identify with, but I kind of haterd the fact that you could change his name. I mean, they never once say Tidus, so I refuse to believe the KH saying of his name.
It's ugly. I like Tie(as in neck tie)dus.

You mean Tee-dus?
Yeah, it's pretty retarded. The pronunciation I ALWAYS use, Tie-dus, may be wrong according to KH, but it's a heckuva lot better than the other one.
It's like taking Squall and pronouncing it "Squeal" or something like that. oO;

In KH 2 they say Tie-Dus, Selphie does...

I like the pronouncing of Tie-dus better than Tee-dus. It makes me think of 'WEE-Nus' waaaay too much.

I chose Cloud because I felt that he went through so much in his life which made him stand out as a hero. At first, he's more of a weakling and less likely to succeed in what ever he does. But what I find amazing is, despite all his flaws and weaknesses, he was able to pull through. He overcame many obstacles, this includes himself, to save those he cares for the most. He's incredible and he inspires me to continue something whenever I feel hopeless or insignificant about the task.
