*grins* Still haven't dropped the FFVII fandom Koky! Frankly I'm surprised I love it as much as I do, I don't like things I liked in my childhood much. Nope, nope, nope. FFVII shall forever be my pole in the middle of the river or some such thing.
I've pretty much killed all KH reading frankly because most of it seems the same to me, plots blend together and such. I do read one or two still but not much more.
Speaking of KH fandom I need to check the Zelda fandom for anything Vaati related *hums* I have a sudden obsession with Vaati related fics.

I just thought of something while perusing this forum - the reason I even joined this forum itself is because I found a group of people who like writing FF7 fanfiction. I've yet to have tried to find one for FF8 or Trigun or any of the other fandoms I write for, just FF7. I like FF7, it's like my bicycle fandom. XD I know it well, I enjoy the storyline, and I can always come back to it if I get bored or annoyed by whatever other fandom I'm in (this tends to happen a lot in the FF8 fandom as I'm not super fond of Squall/Rinoa, which is of course the canon pairing, and in Harry Potter, because some of the fangirls there make me want to tear my hair out by the roots). I'll dabble, but I always come back - my activity here is proof positive.

I don't particularly like Squall/Rinoa either... I didn't like her much in the game and I don't particularly like how the majority of the population writes her. Drives me insane so I avoid that fandom for the most part.
So... FFVII as bicycle fandom ftw? (Or pole in the middle of the river... I wonder what I was thinking when I wrote that)

Oh, God. I have so much hatred for FFVIII in general that I've actually tried erasing my memory of it. (No, I'm serious. It was a half-baked and not-too-serious attempt at it, but I actually did try to forget all about the game.)
Anyway.
I've always wanted to do a story about Ace Combat 4 or 5. Those two I've always seen as having two uncommonly good stories (especially for its genre), and I'd have liked to especially write a story about the fairy tales and mythologies of Ace Combat 5 - it did a really good job of incorporating those two into a modern epic story, which I always thought was really cool.
...except I can't write about either of the two at all, because I don't have any ideas for them. Alas, woe is me...

Ooooh! Kaj, I would totally read Ace Combat 5 (or Zero - I love the whole Belkan conflict that they came up with) fanfiction. I loved that game! It has such an amazing storyline for a flight sim. That part where everyone starts singing along when they're going to fight makes me go soft inside every time (My husband plays the games constantly, too).
If you have ideas, I wanna read!

Me, the ACs in my collection are AC 04 and 5 because AC04 has the greater story and AC5 the better graphics and music, I think. A much deeper and more personal story than a lot of the games out there, and certainly more so than any other action/flight game. AC5's story was really well-done, and though it didn't have the same deep and melodramatic storyline as AC04, it did still have a very good and well-plotted one, and the music and gameplay were much more well-refined, I think.
...and I didn't necessarily like Zero or 6, because Zero was basically revisiting AC5's story (it deals with the Belkan Conflict, which was introduced in AC5... though the Round Table and the fighter jets as the Knights was a really cool addition) and 6... well, 6 was just really plainly recycled garbage, actually. Sure, the graphics and sound got better, but the story and intensity took many major steps backward.
As far as stories go, I've been thinking of writing a four- or five-shot piece for AC5 in which the fighter pilots, and maybe Bartlett, reflect on Blaze and what he was like. But beyond that, the only thing I could see myself writing is something being told from an outsider's perspective.
...like maybe a story about Grimm's brother watching Wardog Squadron fight above him, or something... or maybe pull a Ace Combat 04 and tell a story that seems completely unrelated to the main plot at first, but which helps characterize some of the characters more... or maybe even a fake account of the Razgriz legend...
Which is actually interesting, because there actually IS a Razgriz legend (that book, "A Blue Dove for the Princess") that Namco wrote, complete with pictures and everything. I just found it recently, and I thought it was really cool that they even decided to write it.
Yeah, I like Ace Combat. Just a bit.

Ace Combat Six sucks. Really bad. My husband's been playing it and we're both wholly disappointed. Five and Zero were the ones that intrigued me, storyline-wise.

Tell your husband I love him. Yeah, AC6 was just... really, now. The story was supposed to be some sort of really uplifting story about how a mother won't give up on her daughter, and how a soldier from the other side interacts with his enemies, and all this grandiose stuff, but... God, it just came off so horribly wrong. I dunno. Have you or your husband played No. 04? Definitely a good one.

My husband's played all of them. I watched him play 4, 5 and 0. I barely remember 4. We should reinvest in it.

Aw... yeah, 4 is one of those where you're just like, "Wow... I didn't expect that..."
At first it made no sense to me. I was just sorta like, "Wuh?" But then I played it again a few years later, and I remember being all, "Aww dat's so sad..."
Ahem.
...so yeah, other fandoms... I'm actually writing one for 5 CM Per Second, but I don't really want to post it up, mainly because there isn't a 5 CM Per Second section and I don't want to bother throwing it into the Misc. Anime category... 'cuz it'd be mixed in with all the obscure and BAD anime like... like the obscure and bad anime.

Naruto is my addiction... But I do have an idea for a Crimson Spell fic taking shape in the back of my demented mind.
The only thing that makes me sad about departing from FFVII so completely these days, is that I've never posted anything that's just Zack/Cloud.

I've pretty much shifted into Zelda fandom now. Now is it Zelda/Link, Illia/Link or Midna/Link which is canon in Twilight Princess
