Title: Tour of Duty Author: puellanerdii URL: www.fanfiction.net/s/3868988/1/Tour_of_DutyContact for Author: PM via ff.net Status: Complete Pairings: Zack/Aeris Rating: T - There's a love scene, but it's non-explicit. Reasons for Recommendation: This is a beautifully written piece that gives the reader a look at what life is like for a soldier and the girl he leaves behind. The conflict they both feel about the unpalatable parts of the job interspersed with warm, funny interactions really capture the bittersweetness perfectly. The author also fits the events of the fic into the world and timeline of the compilation, giving it more depth and detail. A moving and believable story.

Title: Reduced to Specimens Author: JaydeeGrey URL: www.fanfiction.net/s/4257079/1/Contact for Author: www.fanfiction.net/u/1564651/JaydeeGreyStatus: WiP Pairings: Cloud/OC, Zack/OC Rating: NC-17, Non-con Reasons for Recommendation: The story of what happened to Cloud & Zack when they were captured by Hojo. I actually couldn't look at some of it it was so disturbing and gut-wrenching. It made me want to reach into my screen and shake some sense into the characters within the story, instead of just passively sitting back and letting it all happen. Very emotionally disturbing, for me - not them.

Title: Amor Vincit Omnia Author: Strange and Intoxicating -rsa- URL: www.fanfiction.net/s/4486321/1/Amor_Vincit_OmniaContact for Author: Here or Via FFN Status: Complete Pairings: Vincent/Sephiroth Rating: M (For a tiny bit of smut at the end) Reasons for Recommendation: I sound like a complete retard, nominating my own story, but I really think that Omnia was one of my best in terms of emotions. There is a lot of them-- Vincent's feelings of failure to protect Lucrecia, to protect Sephiroth; his hatred for what he has become; the desire to save everyone, but not being able to; Sephiroth's search for love in any form; his fear of being what he is; their compassion for one another as experiments; and tons of other emotions. I like to think that I showed the characters properly, invoking emotions in the readers, because I know I bawled like a baby when I wrote it.

Note: Originally nominated by wishingforamiracle. Moved to a more appropriate category.Title: The Last 100 Days Author: Moiranne Rose URL: www.fanfiction.net/s/4557793/1/The_Last_100_DaysContact for Author: PM via FF.Net. But she's also a judge here, under Moira Rose. Status: In-Progress Pairings: Zack/Aerith Rating: K+ Reasons for Recommendations: This fic, co-written by my "twin" and GoldenShinyWireofHope (GSWoH), is possibly one of the nicest Zeriths I've ever read. Even though this may seem like favouritism, since I'm her "twin"/best friend after all, I truly believe that this fic is really creative and one of the best ways to explain Aerith's not-so-surprised reaction when (SPOILERS) Zack dies at the end of Crisis Core (SPOILERS END). It's planned to be a good 100 chapters long, given that each day's going to be written, but I've gotten hooked so badly, I have to read till the end. Each chapter may be have fluff and romance that's done so well by both Moira and GSWoH, but it's laced with an undertone of sadness, despair and angst. A beautiful read and perfect for the pairing. In my opinion.

Sai's description of everything is amazing, giving me a crystal clear image of all the happenings in the story. Her style is elegant, almost, and kept me reading until the end. Overall, the story is just a wonderful read. I do believe this has become one of my favorite oneshots of all time.
