The warning system is basically a percentage bar that goes under your username. Any wrongdoings will make this bar increase, and if it comes to the staff's attention that you are a regular 'wrongdoer', we will consider disabling your account for an appropriate amount of time. Of course, the more severe the wrongdoings are, the more severe the punishment.
The main problems with this forum are post-happy people and an excessive use of colourful language. Mods are having to edit posts to keep this board safe for younger eyes, and it seems only fair to warn those who cause extra work.
Please also refrain from spamming threads just to increase your post count. At the end of the day, it's a number. Repeated off-topic posts, one-liners or meaningless posts will be picked up on, deleted and the member will be warned.
In addition, please consider your signature size. Don't overdo it with heaps of pictures and images. Keep it simple, or else threads have more pictures than text. If you are in this category, adjust your signature please or we may have to issue a warning.
So as to set some basic guidelines, if your warning percentage hits 40%, your account will be disabled for some time (which will be determined by the severity of what you were warned about), disabled again if it hits 80%, and on reaching 100%, we'll need to chat and discuss why you're here on this forum:
Wrongdoings we're looking out for include:
Severe: Bullying, creating sockpuppet accounts, failure to be polite and civil
Mild (but can become severe if committed on a regular basis): posting for the sake of it, overuse of graphics and pictures in signature, hotlinking, too much profanity
I'd also like to remind staff members to only warn when necessary. Ideally, we don't want to warn anyone or disable anyone's account; however, posts and threads have been getting out of control and it seems fit to put this system into place.
Please check or bookmark this thread for changes to the system or additions to the list. Thanks.
