I found something which I thought was quite cool recently. In FFX-2 International, which was only released in Japan, there are two bonus dresspheres. I knew about this, but I'd never seen any pictures. But you can see them here if you want to. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) I know a lot of people hate FFX-2, but I think the dressphere system is one of its redeeming features. Maybe it's a throwback to my childhood, but I enjoyed seeing the different outfits worn by the girls.

Yeah, I get that feeling too, Leaf. I mean, a schoolgirl uniform? Jeez.
I like Yuna's, though. I'd totally wear that. =P

Ah, if I haven't said so already I love this game. Still haven't beaten it though, because I'm playing through FFIII/VI for the first time ever and that's total funness. AND I have FFXII to beat as well ... damn, why do they have to makes these games so HUGE?

Dahaaaaaaak! *flying tackle* Where have you been?!
Heh, what strikes from that comment of yours is that it's correct in at least one respect: even FFX-2 is freakin' huge. Normally the not-as-great fics are really short, comparatively (DMC2, anyone?), but I guess Final Fantasy is Final Fantasy, y'know? Even if it is FFX-2. (Now, if it weren't so tortuous the length would actually be a good thing... =P)

Hey it's not that bad!
... well ok, I admit X-2 is an acquired taste. Sadly I have to admit that the main reason I stopped in favour of playing FFIII/VI and DoC again is because I just started Chapter 4 - the one where you have to review all those blasted comm sphere's that the so-called genius Shinra spent the whole previous chapter planting. No fast forward button? But I really like Yuna, so I'm bound to go back to it again some time.
In the meantime, just like I said I'm going through DoC again, trying to get back my old progress after I deleted my save yonks back.

I actually found X-2 disappointingly short the first time I played it, though that was probably because I missed a lot of the optional quests. I was surprised that Chapter 5 was the end; I expected to be only about halfway through at that point.

Finally playing this game (after crying my way through X) and it is sooooo emotionally distressing - I stand firmly by the motion that Spira isn't allowed to exist without Tidus >.< (Also WHY DID YOU DO THAT TO ZANARKAND CID! IT IS A SACRED PLACE! WHYWHYWHY ONLY TIDUS CAN STAND THERE!) I attach to games easy ;PAlso... I don't remember Issaru being like that O.o On a more relevant note although some bits of Yuna's character are a bit of a shock, I am beginning to get to know her again after the timeskip, and in my honest opinion most of the changes she goes through feel believable. And also the gameplay/battlesystem is fuuun, X's system is/was fantastic in its own right (and in general there are very few battle systems that I actually out-and-out dislike) but this is so free and neat and just *amusing*. ...isn't it odd how I can be playing X-2 and still miss X so so very much? (cries herself to sleep).

Actually, it's not that surprising at all, Fear. You probably miss X because X was epic and awesome and abso-bloody-lutely amazing, while X-2 is, hmm, less so. =P
It happened to me the first time I tried X-2. About 10 minutes in I was already crying "Give me back X, waah!"
Actually, X is one of the few games that have actually touched me emotionally so much that I've cried at parts of it (and wished I could go to Spira via a magical portal, but that's something else entirely.)

I cried quite a lot at X, I mean, I still can't watch the ending without tearing up. But yeah, Spira isn't allowed to exist without Auron or Tidus, it just ISN'T! *pouts* DoC actually had me sniffling at one point, just because of the terrible sadness that is Vincent/Lucretia ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png) EDIT: Oh yes, and 8 had me burst out into full-on tears once as well ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

I'm just getting into both of these games (have to buy them yet) but I never realized how amazing X was....nearly cried when watching the end on Youtube ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png) And just adored that scene where Tidus kissed Yuna ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) Also went crazy and fan-girlish on Shuyin....always the baddies...*sigh*....have to love Lenne's song though, with Yuna "A 1000 Words"- I even downloaded it off of Limewire and am totally obsessed with it....and X Japan's "Forever Love" from the game... I so have to buy these games!!!! ;D

Kas.Yes.Now. *mind zaps you to go and buy them RIGHT NOW* X and X-2 are f*cking fantastic games! X is the first game where I think you really *are* someone and the world reacts to you, (e.g. when you upset people/do things what happens to you changes, and like you can't go to places post-things). Tidus is a leetle annoying at first but he grows on you like a big stupid lovable tumor, and the battle systems are completely different but each absoltely enthralling. X/X-2 are the first games where I have actually just enjoyed the battle system simply for what it was, with a mite exception for 8's junction system, because that was just cool. Also, I cry every time I see the ending (but it's getting less as I get CLOSER TO BRINGING HIM BACK TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE... *ahem* *on chapter 5 [at last]* *ahem*) These games always make me shout... Powerful emotion ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

I loved X, although I really disliked the ending. Seriously, I spent a huge amount of time getting spheres and making sure everyone had tons of stuff and getting the extra Aeons and stuff....over seventy hours I invested in that game...and then I beat it and went "Well, that was the biggest waste of 70 hours culmination ever!" The gameplay is astounding and the storyline was rad, but the ending just let me down so much. I really wasn't super fond of Tidus so I didn't mind that he disappeared, but the writer in me appreciated the tragic awesomeness that existed with his relationship with Yuna. The only part that I always cry during, however, is the scene where Yuna sends those people (for those of you who have not played the game, a bunch of people have died in Kilika and Yuna is sending their souls on to the Farplane so that they do not become fiends - you can view it here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJPhSapqRtw). It's such an emotional scene. Oh, and maybe that part where Tidus says "People died, Yuna danced." For some reason that always gets to me. But I loathed FFX-2. It was so barbie-doll in comparison. Although I really did like Yuna in it, better than I liked her in the first one. I never even finished the game, I got so bored with it. And the music...oh, God, the music. It was horrible. I wanted to smack Nobuou Uematsu upside his head for not taking the project on, because the people who did it failed miserably. That is, I think, the biggest problem I had with FFX-2. The music. If the music of a game isn't good, I cannot play it, end of story. It's a big deal for me. >.< But yeah, FFX was a very emotional game. FFX-2...not so much, for me.

I adore the sending, it doesn't make me cry but it made me want to BE Yuna for weeks after I saw it... Which is kinda twisted when you think about it but I just loved the dance, and I want to be able to walk on waaaateeeeerrrrr..... X is a really beautiful game, but X-2 isn't that bad IMO, and it feeds my tendency to get scary obsessive over games (every single pokemon I own on Saphire must be at the same level. Every single one) So I can go around trying to complete EVERYTHING (I always have to talk to EVERYONE every time I go into an area, even if I've been there loads of times before, which is good for a game like X-2...) But my sister lost the disc ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png) Hopefully I can borrow Verv's soon though...

I cannot overstate how much I agree with you there, Costa. The only pieces I remotely liked from X-2 were 'Memories of Lightwaves' and 'Luca', kinda. But seriously, there wer so many great songs/themes they should have kept but didn't. Like The Hymn of the Fayth. Hauntingly beautiful, and what do they replace it with in X-2? Generic Creepy Temple music. PHAIL. (I seem to recall saying this somewhere before.)
