I've been reading these comments about Lucrecia and pushing Vincent away.....well then what's up with Lucrecia having a picnic with him?

Lucrecia is just all sorts of confused, I think. DoC doesn't really explain what the issue was that well. Is it really just guilt over his father? What?
I do feel sorry for the poor woman, though. I wish she could come out of her crystal and find some redemption for herself. :/

Didn't she when she and Vincent were at the picnic place? And, I think with Vincent kind of forgave her, it lifted some of her burden....Right? At the end and single tear rolled down her cheek...So? *Shrugs*

The picnic scene in DOC is partially why I dislike her hun. We see that scene, where she evidently cares for him, then on of the next scenes that comes into the game is where Vincent get's shot by Hojo, where's she's more than obviously pushing him away. What tends to p*ss me off with regards to her character is how her feelings for Vincent seem to be based on guilt over what happened to Grimoire, which isn't being true to Vincent. I don't like how she likes him, then pushes him away, then likes him again - just make up your mind woman!

Oh no ... this is gonna be just like the Flaming thread, ain't it? ;D I don't mind Lucrecia as a character. True I kinda dislike her for what she did to Vinnie, but she's integral to the story and for that I respect her.

Don't lie Kas - you were defending her right up until you found out she married Hojo, then that literally went out the window I just find her an annoying character - I'm not saying that she didn't play a central role in the over all game - she's Sephiroth's mother, she is central. But between stupid decisions, going back and forth on feelings, liking Vincent, then pushing him away - and then repeatedly apologizing >_<

Don't lie Kas - you were defending her right up until you found out she married Hojo OH-EM-GEE YOU'RE ALL JUST JEALOUS, FIND YOUR OWN HOJOS. GET OVER YOURSELVES, MY GAWD. Hohoho. I never knew my last comment would have any sort of reaction. I only find Hojo an interesting character. =P I harbor no attraction towards him whatsoever, because I hold a deeply hypnotic love for his son. Though he is quite the charmer. I just wanted to rattle things up a bit. <3 for Sai LOL.Honestly, I'm of the opinion that Lucrecia really was in a rough spot - as a normal person, she was dealing with a lot. (Lucrecia wasn't superhuman: she couldn't handle the sheer amount of things a more unrealistic character could.) She was blaming herself for Grimoire's death - realistically, a situation like that, being so close to what happened, would take a huge toll on a person's physical and mental health - worried about losing her job, which was just about all she really had, and was also trying to understand the confusing romantic problem she found herself in. No, that doesn't make it right - it never can and never will. But because of this I believe that she isn't evil and isn't a bad person. I think she was only a neutral person too caught up in the little things, which ultimately allowed her to be manipulated. Just accidentally allowing it, yeah, that was a terrible thing to do. But I don't think she was bad. I'm also of the mindset that DoC obviously only showed one side of the story. If SE was to chronicle her life, the scenes and the timing (scenes that passed quickly were more than likely weeks to months in between, remember) would be a lot different, because it would be from her point of view. So maybe I'm not telling anybody to like her, because that's just silly. You can like or dislike whomever you'd like. =P I guess this rambling was just my thoughts that there's more to the story.

Well from what I read from you comments, I kind of pity her. Its quite common for people to be confused. Then again we should thank her.....Vincent would never become a sexy beast if it wasn't for her....

True, True - c'mon, we all love those dark brooding characters that have damaged pasts And his voice is shexy too I'm not saying I hate her fully, actually.... But I just think a lot of the hardships that befell the characters of FFVII, AC, CC, DOC - were all down to stupid decisions made by her and could have been avoided. And sure, the argument of hindsight is there, but in all fairness she was a smart woman she knew what was right and what was wrong, but her love for science sacrificed the life she could have had, the life her son could have had, the lives of the people her son murdered, the lives lost as collateral damage along the way (Zack ), you get my picture huns.

It's recently come to my attention, through some very real-life problems, that I hold a lot of high expectations over people. My own ability to work my way through my problems - be they grief, interpersonal relationships, or general workload - is a direct result from my years in Alateen, because of my fathers' alcoholism. I have discovered that I expect other people to have this ability and that it is wrong, because I'm not normal.
In light of this, I'm a lot more forgiving toward Lucrecia, but I still don't particularly like her.

I'm really neutral on Lucrecia. Don't like her, don't dislike her. She made mistakes, some of them very avoidable, but people make stupid mistakes all the time, don't they?
And as for her on-off feelings for Vincent? Don't forget that she wasn't in love with 'dark past, broody sexy gunslinger who's reluctantly saving the world'. She was in love with a sexy, gunslinging-Turk, and from what we've seen of Vincent's skills it's safe to say he was probably very good at what he did. IE murder people, torture people, terrorize people, etc.

She used to irratate me soooo badly. You don't even know. I used to sit there, caffienated to Bahamut, going, "Stop hitting the keyboard! It's not the keyboard's fault you screwed up!" Then I took her and Vincey-poo as my pairing of choice for LJ 1sentence challenge as a challenge within a challenge (that is, write a pairing I rather dislike and write it with one sentence per prompt). Then I actually started to like her. Now she's just sort of there for me to poke fun at every now and again.
