Lovely work, Tasha! I can't wait to see how this goes. I have complete faith in you and Hannah. In other breaking news, I have a suggestion. About the judging.
You know how we rate each category on a scale of 10/15/20? Yeah, well, I feel like the scoring's a bit ambiguous. I mean, there really isn't a set rubric as to what qualifies as what on the scaling, and it's left to the open interpretation of the judge to decide.
Naturally, each judge will score differently, but it's a bit of a problem when one judge's standards for a 6 or something differs from the others, no? All we've really got to go on is that 0 sucks and 10/15/20 rules. That's about it.
So yeah, I think a rubric would be helpful. Just a thought I've been chewin' over. Well, I personally think leaving the scoring up to each judge is alright. I mean...as long as each judge is consistent with his/her qualifications for each numerical score, then things should work out fine. After all, there are three of us judging each category. But if you still feel bothered by it, then by all means make suggestions. A rubric doesn't sound half-bad, anyway.

To relate to what Koky was suggesting, might I make referance to the Irish Leaving Cert? In the English exam, the examiners are given marking schemes , eg. 10 marks for mechanics of writing, (grammer, punctuation), 20 marks for relevance to the subject, 20 marks for overall fluidity .. etc. Grade me now Pirates, lol!

What about somehting like the Irish Leaving Cert? See A bit too conversational for my taste., in our English exam, the examiners are given marking schemes , eg. 10 marks for mechanics of writing a comma, perhaps?( grammer, punctuation), 20 marks for relevence to the subject, 20 marks for averall fluidity .. etc. I'm going to give you 4 for the mechanics of this post, 11 for relevance and 14 for over all fluidity. C-I love you really, I just couldn't resist the delicious irony. I went to see the new board, and got side tracked onto my fist, your face. I lol'd. Angry blogger XD The new site looks good though. There was something I was meant to do... A cookie script? Did we fix that? Or do you still want it?

Did we fix that? Or do you still want it? New site, not new board. The boards are not up yet in their entirety. I THINK I may have solved the cookie thing, but I'm still messing around with it. I'm confused by parts. It may or may not have had something to do with the fact that my DSL modem sucked and truncated a few uploads but still let the software install. I have a new modem and this install seems like it's going fine. I shall putz! Also, for those of you who don't know, I have myfistyourface.net (my site) up as a temporary affiliate so I could screw around with link styles. XD

Speaking of skins... is there any way we could get the 'flower field' color scheme and background over there (or something similar)? It's the only background I've ever used, and I love it dearly. <3

I didn't see anything on the site that even remotely resembled it. If anyone wants to head over there (there being the Simple Machine Forums site listed on page two) and check you are welcome to, because I'm not quite advanced enough in my PHP abilities to redo this layout without screwing up the forum software. I can install, slightly modify, and install plugins/layouts like no one's business, but I'm still learning about changing the actual forum software around.

I agree completely on this. As long as a judge scores consistently between fics in a category, it doesn't matter that he or she might be awarding scores considerably higher or lower than the other judges. All it affects is the look of the cumulative scores.

Is there any way to make up your own password? Just asking because I know I won't remember the characters it gives me.

Go into your profile and change it, Kas. There's a menu on the side and in it is the profile option. You can put your personal/contact info there as well as change your password to something you will remember.

Yes, koki, that's a temporary layout until Hannah gets internet access. ^_^ I think it looks nice, too, but it's not mine - someone else designed it.
