It took me six plays through FFVII to catch Barret checking himself out in the sailor suit in Costa del Sol. It also took me ten or so plays through to realize you could buy the effing condo. I felt like a tard.
In FFX I never realized they don't say Tidus' name until someone pointed it out to me.

So I was watching Advent - like any good fan, and there is ONE MAJOR issue with it. Okay - so Kadaj and the gang pick up the kids in a truck from Midgar and SUDDENLY they're in their base in the forgotten city... Right, you know - that place where Aeris died. It's only a continent over and only accessible through the sleeping forest which requires you to dig in the ground for a ridiculous mini-game. Obviously their truck gets better four-wheel drive then mine. And doubles as a boat. But better yet - Cloud gets there super quick with his Fenrir which apparently doubles as an airship. Please see below map donated by foxy...

We've discussed this in another thread, but basically we choose to assume there's a ferry system in place. XD

I think it's much more creative from a fanfiction outlook to assume that advent children takes course over a span of weeks. That would leave any good author room to doodle, as well as explain some of their emotions and the huge crowd gathering around the meteor when SHM try to take it down.
By that time word of the children missing would have spread large enough to gather that crowd.

Whatever. That whole mess was lame, anyway. I love how three pretty boys managed to arrange a group of kids in a perfect circle in the center of town without a single person protesting, and I love even more how every adult just sort of gathers around, not knowing what the heck's going on, screaming and stuff, but not having the guts to gang up on the three wimpy-looking dweebettes.
But of course, realism isn't exactly a specialty of Square's...
One thing I didn't notice - in FFIX, Quina can eat the Earth Guardian. Usually, s/he can't eat bosses, but this one's a rare exception, I guess. Anyway, I learned Earth Shake from it. Hooray me!

Ummm, Clan Dragoon, I seem to recall somewhere someone saying that Advent Children takes place over the course of a day or so. I could totally be wrong on that, naturally, but....

I'll totally look into that, Costa.
If so, that would throw everything off that i've already built going for them...

I've heard that too - from NRG, I think. I'll ask her the next time she's on.
This is going to seem like a crazy insignificant/downright weird thing to you guys, but I noticed when I was checking over some of Dirge's cutscenes that Nero's nails are black. I was so surprised that I actually yelped the fact out loud, leading my brother to come over, examine the screen for a moment, and then declare Nero "emo".

It's not uncommon for people to see Nero as "emo". I noticed the painted nails early on, but I never considered it "emo". For awhile, I viewed Nero as someone "not emotional enough" to be emo. Yea, right.

He's not emo, he's like the weird tortured soul I knew in high school who used to quote Shakespeare all the time. Not really emo, but just as creepy. XD

I had noticed that, too. Maybe he doesn't paint his nails black; maybe they just are black, like his soul. Seriously, though, maybe they are. Like, some tiny physical manifestation of his weird darkness-manipulation ability. Maybe he used to be blonde, too, like Weiss, and now he's just got blackness leaking out of his very hair follicles. Who knows. But that seems more likely to me than the idea that he actually paints his nails.

Unless Rosso does it for him.
...*NOT-NICE-MENTAL-IMAGE LAND*
Or better yet, Shelke. Haha. I can see that.
Wait, no, I can't.

Oh God, guys, now I'm having this image of Rosso and Nero having a creepy sleepover where they tell war stories, giggle like schoolgirls, paint each other's talons, and fight over who gets to cuddle Weiss - who is slumped over in the corner, getting taken over by Hojo.
Gahhhhhh. There is something wrong with me. NO MORE DAYQUIL FOR TASHA.

I think there was something in the Compilation Ultimania about Nero's hands being particularly dangerous, so it seems likely that the colour of his nails is a physical manifestation of Oblivion. As for the Rosso or Shelke painting his nails... I direct you all to Memoires Of A Mental Breakdown.
