Welcome to STUFF YOU NEVER NOTICE UNTIL NOW. Within the Final Fantasy series, at least, or anything that tends to crossover in and out of it.
For me, today, after over 10 years... I learned that Emerald Weapon's Aire Tam Storm...is really Materia Storm. I mean, what the hell? Materia? Spelled backwards? Huge, huge hint on how to nerf that attack that's so obvious...soooooo...soooooo obvious...
...you overlook it? Or something like that.
Mm. How about you guys? .___. It doesn't have to be recent. Also, what's up with Kefka being a Magitek experiment? I never even heard of that until today either. Playing Dissidia is making me open my eyes to so many things I never knew before. I am only too somewhat grateful that the Final Fantasy wikia exists. *v*
EDIT: Yeah, I edited. Whaddyagonnado~

*embarrasing* You know Vivi Orunitia? Well my first intro into the world of Final Fantasy came through KHII ... throughout the whole Twilight Town part with Roxas, I thought Vivi was a Heartless ... until I found out, about three weeeks ago, that he's a souless Black Mage from FFIX, created by Kuja ...

I never knew that in the original script for FFVII, the whole 'love triangle' was actually supposed to encompass Cloud, Aeris, and Sephiroth-- Sephiroth replacing Zack. Heck, Zack wasn't even in the original notes. According to the team, Zack was created as a solution to the puzzle of Cloud's somewhat frazzled mind. In the beginning, before the concept artist was replaced by Nomura, the artist had drawn many picture with only two 'romantically inclined' sets of photos: that of Aeris and Cloud, and Aeris and Sephiroth. (and no, I don't count the pictures of Cloud and Red to be in any way, shape or form romantically inclined.) Here is the original Sephiroth/Aeris: img.photobucket.com/albums/v91/PhoenixStar/AmanoAerSeph.jpgCloud/Aeris: img.photobucket.com/albums/v91/PhoenixStar/AmanoCA.jpgAnd another original Cloud/Aeris: img.photobucket.com/albums/v91/PhoenixStar/AmanoCA3.jpgThis all comes from my research. My very /very/ extensive research.

@kisara: Well, bless your heart. That's not embarrassing. That's cute. *imsosorrybutihadtosaythat* Coincidental as his appearance was in comparison to the Heartless, it's an honest...well, I can't say mistake because you couldn't have really thought anything wrong. But-but you should see Trance Vivi. He doesn't look as black and soulless then; he's all sparkly and crazy powerful~! And still adorable. (this is assuming you haven't played FFIX yet...but there's always googling for pictures)
@sai: You're joking? You are, aren't you? ffffff- Wow, I've seen that AerisxSephiroth picture maybe a thousand times-- being the Amano fan that I am, please raise the roof-- and that never even crossed my mind. That almost changes everything... Almost. But it's all after the fact >_> Soooo...nice food for thought, though.

Oh oh oh! I just replayed Crisis Core and yelled.
If you skip the cutscenes that are shown in the DMW, you miss a hell of a lot of things.
Also, I got the whole Vivi thing mixed up. I always thought he was some Heartless in disguise. Then my friend told me he was a Black Mage that was GOOD. -screams- I can't believe myself.

I never noticed that Irvine wore a purplish vest. Now it bugs me. Purple.... with brown.... and more brown.... and somehow he pulls it off D:
I never noticed to recently how SHORT Seifer's hair really was. I thought it was longer but it's not. >.<

My very /very/ extensive research. *heart attack* I'm... looking at the Amano Sephiroth/Aeris... and... *heart attack again* That changes everything. (Teehee. So, if I'm cosplaying as Aerith, that means... I can totally kidnap a Sephiroth, because it was almost canon! BWAHAHA. WATCH OUT, SWACE. NYUK NYUK NYUK.)On topic: I played Kingdom Hearts before any FF, so everything was sort of skewed for me. And yes, I too am guilty of not knowing what Vivi was when I played KH2, either. He actually creeped me out - he's portrayed pretty badly in comparison to his actual character. And then I read Guardian1's Go Not Gently, with only the Wiki page of IX as my guide because I had never played the game, which didn't really help my view of him. XD It wasn't until I started reading over the IX script to figure out how to portray Vivi that I realized he's really a very sweet character.

'Twas replaying FFIX today, and in one of the side events, the band was playing the same marching song that the Shinra soldiers marched to in Junon. Thought that was a neat-o.

Oh the Vivi love is quite...damn, I forgot the word already, but something good, something good, yes. I almost want to break it out and play right now...if only I can tear myself away from Dissidia.
You know, people are debating whether it can be considered canon to the FF universe? Boggle.

As a dancer, I noticed upon a closer look at Rinoa that her knees are slightly hypo-extended. Meaning, she is one the rare people who can't straighten out her legs completely due to her kneecaps being set a little off-center. Look, evidence! I always wondered why she would keep her knees bent that way during such a maneuver when it would probably just result in her falling again, so I came to the conclusion that she probably can't. ...It's not that noticeable, but I always wondered why the heck Nomura would put in such a detail.

I'm not sure I never noticed anything that I haven't not-noticed now. If that makes sense :S I never noticed Blank in IX wears a leotard. Or fur underpants, whichever one you deem to be less creepy
