I'd like to create a role-play wherein a band of loosely connected sorts must decipher ancient riddles and horrors amidst either a roaring twenties backdrop or one based upon Final Fantasy VII. It's a campaign setting where ancient secrets and revelations of irrationality are the emphasis. Of course, being the idiot fan-boy I am, it will involve divine intervention courtesy of Aerith and also comedic relief (or wild card evils) from Black Mage of 8-Bit Theater. Otherwise, much of the inspiration for this game is centered around games like Sandy Petersen's "Call of C'thu'hlu" and H.P. Lovecraft stories. Techniques such as PMs sent to specific players (like in the case of a Dream Quest or some other personal event that's meant to be open to one's own interpretation and later discussed to your teammates) and strange riddles that need a specific answer before something happens will be used with impunity. I am also open to suggestions on how to operate this puppy from the prospective players themselves. Basic restrictions include auto-hits and attempts to have your player character smart-ass his or her way around conventional restrictions as established before the game begins. While all of that sounded cut and dry, I am open to suggestions. Don't be shy.
