The RP section has been dead for a while. I've moved the board to make it more visible, but it's going to stay dead unless someone takes over to revive it. Guys, if you want to see this section revived, someone needs to step up. We haven't had any applications for the post of RP Moderator so far. If you want to apply, take a look at this thread. I'm going to lock the dead RP threads for the moment. All of you who participated - do you think it's worth leaving them open, or you would you prefer to see the RP section cleared out?

It should /definitely/ be revived! I'm a judge so I can't ask to moderate it or anything daaw >.<, but we have had so many new people since our last RP died that we need new ones!. I think what's in those threads is gone now, and locking them would be fine as no one is likely to add to them Clearing it out would also be fine, at least the Q&A and 'best lines' sections, though perhaps keeping the RPs in themselves could be done just for nostalgic purposes.

I recommend against cleaning out the RP section. It's only a "dead" language because nothing new is added to it. Only way to make it revived is by trying and trying again a myriad of role-play concepts and vistas until one of them sticks like glue and maintains the people's attention.
It's hard without a constant flow of new ideas and material. I suggest throwing curve-balls and plot twists while posting, so as to give the role-play some measure of direction. Devising rules or facts about a "setting" or insisting on a certain theme or mood will also challenge the participants.
Whatever you do, don't ruin the archive. It's useful for researching where people went wrong so we can perform better next time.

*Looks around to see if the mods are watching* *GLOMPHS* *Runs away* I think cannonballing ideas at members and possibly starting some mild harassment until we get an idea/RP that sticks sounds like a good idea

You take the left flank, I'll go home. Kidding. Seriously though, we have to try something that will spark some feedback.

That all sounds fine, but we still need someone to take charge.

That all sounds fine, but we still need someone to take charge. I WILL TAKE IT!! I will take the RP to greatness... Though... I do not know the way... (Mod edit: Please don't spam.)

Pirates, is this going to turn out like your mod application? -_- As I said, unfortunately I'm a judge (though that in itself is not a misfortune, the fact that I can't beg Pied on my hands and knees to let me apply for RP mod is ) though seeing as the judging doesn't kick off for another month or two I could do some voulnteer-work in the short term and start kicking people's a**es into action over this. Maybeplease?

I suppose I could take this up. I'm typically in the mood to role-play anyway, so my calling coincides with the task of moderating a section of the site. Not like I haven't done it before, either. Tell you what: if you ask me, then I'll certainly do it.

I said it in my first post: if anyone is interested, they should look at this thread. You need to PM me with your application.
