I'm wondering, have any of you searched through our nominated fics to try and find some good stuff to read? And did you find anything you liked?

I know I've read quite a few, or with the longer multi-chapter ones, I've bookmarked them for later. It's convenient if I want something above average to read, but don't have the time to really browse the fic sites myself.
I will always be eternally grateful to this place, as without it, I probably never would have found out about Leonard Wangtabulous and his performance evaluation. ;D

I've found quite a few good fics on here... But I can't say I share everyone else's love for Leonard...

I've found some pretty good things as well. And I'm very picky when it comes to fanfiction, so that's a good thing

Oh, yes. I often leaf through the nomination threads to try and find good stories to read. The forum is a great resource to find quality fanfiction without having to sort through the not-so-good ones on fanfiction sites. I bet we have some regular guests that come here just to read the nominated fics. Who knows?

If it's been listed as CloudxTifa, I am THERE! And so far, I've found some FANTASTIC reads. I'm so very glad I found this forum because without it, I never would have found some of the stories I've read. And reading has provided the necessary inspiration I needed to work on my own stories so yay! Until now I've found it very hard to find good FFVII fanfiction. I used to go to a site set up by a guy who had written a fantastic post-game series but it (and he) disappeared some years ago. Shame really, because he's the reason I found FFN. So, thanks GA for existing!

I've just read 'my disjointed life' by pendrum, which is nominated for best completed - mainly on leaf's recomendation, as she said although it was lkinda ong it really sucks you in.
I have to say it was AMAZING, and the sugar crisp cereal bear F*CKING LIES! YOU CAN HAVE ENOUGH! If the writer is anything like Cloud in this fic I would SO love to meet him in real life. His 1st year sounds fun, I want to go to college soooo much (2 more years XD)
Although Cloud/Tifa tends to bore me (please don't hate me, I just don't find Cloud all that captivating) this was so well written that, well, I loved it.

Yay I read 4 nominated fics today! *is proud* (albeit 4 one-shots ) It's a good day because I actually like all the four fics I read. From the best tragedy cat. I read "White Carnations" by Lady Liliana. I'm not usually for tragedies, but this one is really touching, the friendship and loyalty theme is strong and it's not overdone, which is good. Then in the Misc. genre I read "The Crossing" by ardwynna_m which was short but I think it portrayed Zack nicely. It's not my favourite read today but I like it enough. Then from the same genre there's "As They Sleep" by Whiskey and Cyanide. I really like this one because it shows you how everyone is from Marlene's eyes and how you can't hide things when you sleep, even when you try to be someone else when you are awake. I think the author did well with the characterisation too. Ah and the best of today's read was actually Sztorm's fic "Insurance Won’t Cover Apocalypses (But Listerine Kills Germs that Cause Bad Breath)" from the parody section. Thanks Snarky for nominating it. Sztorm has this way of writing that's simple and direct yet exciting and captivating. Anyway this fic made me laugh and I love the snarky tone you used throughout the fic, so good job Sztorm.

Oh yes. In fact I use GA as a browsing site for good fics, seeing as these fics are already deemed good by other people. I just need to decide for myself.
That`s one hell of a filter. Thanks for this site.

i read a couple of the nominated ones: Impressions and My Disjointed Life (I wouldn't have read this if it weren't for the awesome recs) were gems. There was this other one, and I didn't think that it was that special, but there's some merit in everything I guess.

I've been reading through a lot of the nominated fics in my spare time. There are some definite gems in there, and I've been reviewing and favoriting a lot the past week or so. It makes me glad I stumbled on this site rather than wading through C2s. Still haven't taken the plunge into the longer fics though, although I intend to.
