This is the thread for Best Crossover Nominations. Post nominations that fit this category only. Crossovers are fics which include aspects of a world other than FFVII. The world or characters of FFVII should play a major part for the fic to be eligible. Fics that are mistakenly put here will be removed, and a member of staff will contact you to suggest a more suitable thread. For all nominations, copy, paste and complete this form, filling in all parts and post under this thread. Don't forget to check that your selected fic has not been nominated before you post, and reread the rules to make sure the fic is eligible. Title: Prudent Author: chibirisuchan URL: asylums.insanejournal.com/no_true_pair/25985.htmlContact for Author: chibirisuchan.insanejournal.com/Status: Complete (one-shot) Pairings: None Rating: Universal Reasons for Recommendation: This is just so full of awesome it defies my ability to accurately rec it. I’ve never met a fan-written Granny Weatherwax (of Terry Pratchett's Discworld fame) whom I’ve liked before, but this one is so true to form it’s actually a little scary. There isn't any explanation for how Kadaj, Loz or Yazoo and their bikes (the existence of which is a whole other bunch of win in this fic) got into the Discworld, but frankly it doesn't need it. This fic is all about the characters and how they interact together – and boy does the author have fun with the idea. Their actions and reactions are perfect, funny, accurate and, above all, doesn’t go the easy route of getting cheap laughs at the expense of characterisation. My heart beats for this fic.

Title: Pieced Together Author: La Editor URL: www.fanfiction.net/s/3906879/1/Pieced_TogetherContact for Author: PM via fanfic.net author page Status: Complete one-shot Pairings: Mild Vincent Valentine/Yuffie Kisaragi Rating: T Reasons for Recommendation: Technically it's a Kingdom Hearts fic, but focuses on the events of Final Fantasy VII enough that I consider it a crossover. It explores the connection between KH and FF7 and makes that connection heart-breaking. The gritty realness of AVALANCHE truly shines through in this fic, and La Editor shows their pain as so raw and tangible, you want to cry. The visual rhetoric in this piece (use of parentheses, italics, etc.) is flawless, and it is most definitely one of the best fics I have ever read.

Title: Imperfect Tense Author: Hades'Phoenix URL: www.fanfiction.net/s/3036122/1/Imperfect_TenseContact for Author: hadesphoenix.livejournal.com/Status: Not Complete Pairings: Squall/Seifer (past mild Squall/Rinoa); Cloud/Sephiroth Rating: M Reasons for Recommendation:The author does an amazing job in this world, I found her portrayal of the characters are so dead on it made me giddy to see what would happen next and how certain characters would react to it. The interactions between the two sets of characters is flawless and the story has a beautifully written plot. The whole thing screams of professionalism. Im completely in love with it and everyone I have rec'd it to will say the same. The fact that she has managed to cross over both worlds so wonderfully is reason alone to read it. =D

Title: Two Letters and A Number Author: ladynero URL: ladynero.insanejournal.com/84901.html#cutid1Contact for Author: via Insane Journal ladynero.insanejournal.com/Status: In Progress Pairings: Implied Cloud/Seph/Zack/Aerith Rating: M Reasons for Recommendation: I'm not a great fan of SG1 but reading this fic made me want to go out and rent the series. The way she's melded the two realities together and created a whole new story... well, let's just say I went to great lengths to hunt her down from AFF.net to her IJ site, just so I could read more of this.

Title: Burnt Offerings Author: Nagia URL: www.fanfiction.net/s/4039378/1/Burnt_OfferingsContact for Author: PM via FF.Net Status: In-progress Pairings: Yuffie/Vincent, Aerith/Leon Rating: M (for violence) Reasons for Recommendation: This is a Kingdom Hearts/FFVII/assorted Final Fantasy crossover, wherein Nagia weaves a complicated plot web to explain why the various Final Fantasy characters have no memory of their worlds and why they all claim to come from the same world when Sora meets them in Kingdom Hearts. Nagia's style is refreshing, and her take on the characters is complex and interesting. Who has played FFX and FFVII and never thought it would be awesome if Auron and Vincent met? Who hasn't thought how annoyingly great it would be if Rikku and Yuffie were friends? (Okay, probably lots of people.) But anyway, this story deserves a nom, and I am desperately awaiting its updates.

Title: The Sky and the Dawn and the Sun Author: Scribbler URL: www.fanfiction.net/s/4463327/1/The_Sky_and_the_Dawn_and_the_SunContact for Author: Thru ff.net page Status: In-Progress Pairings: Not definite yet, but it's looking like Zack/Aerith/Cloud, with some Cloud/Tifa, Yuffie/Squall minor Lucrecia/Vincent and (bizarrely) Angeal/Elmyra Rating: T Reasons for Recommendation: This is a stunning crossover, although the word doesn't really get across what a seamless mesh this is of FF7 (including Crisis Core!) and various other fandoms. So far it's FF7/Kingdom Hearts/FF8, but the tag says there's the promise of other fandoms to be added later on. This markets itself as a Kingdom Hearts story, but in actual fact it's the FF7 cast and so MANY of its themes and plot elements transplanted to a seperate stage and THEN crossed with KH. We still have Zack and Angeal's close mentor-pupil bond, the friendship between Zack and Cloud, Aerith's Cetra heritage and ... well, it gets complicated, but trust me, it's as much FF7 as it is KH - if not more so! The author says it's close to 900 pages long and 'twisty-turny', and so far it looks like a really promising fic with everything that made me fall in love with FF7 stil intact.

Title: Legacy Author: StrayValkyrie URL: www.fanfiction.net/s/4707217/1/LegacyContact for Author: PM via FFN Status: WiP Pairings: Unknown (To be het and slash, but nothing has been written in stone) Rating: T Reasons for Recommendation: This story is everything an Action/Adventure crossover needs-- a healthy dose of an angry alien, time warp into the future, and a few unexpected visitors from the wonderful world of FFVIII. Normally, I don't do crossovers, but this story is simply amazing. The characters are perfect. The story is flawless. Simply put-- this is absolutely perfect. Though it takes place in the far future (the only people who are really alive seem to be Cloud(ish), Vincent, and Red, they integrate OCs that actually work-- who aren't the full story, but are quite interesting.
