D: I never got that part in VII!
I actually really liked the beginning FMV (is that what it's called? I can never remember) in X - with that... weird metal song. It just felt very alive. I think, honestly, that they should have started right off the bat with that. It just would have felt more... professional isn't the word I'm looking for, but something similar. Beginning with in-game graphics never sat well with me, for some odd reason. I also enjoyed the short video of all of the Zanarkand citizens on the wall, and I never know why. (One of them, if my memory serves me right, looks suspiciously like Sephiroth. From the back, 'cause, yunno, you don't see the front.)
Also, even though I know a lot of people probably don't like the scene... in X, I loved the wedding scene. Despite Seymour's godawful outfit that I am fully blaming Tromell for making him wear, it really hits a spot when Seymour is about to lean down to kiss Yuna. It was right then that I was just blown away with, 'oh my gawd, this guy is human.' (Despite being Guado. You know what I mean, right?) Just, the way he looked at her before he leaned down - he was almost shy, as if he didn't know quite how to kiss her, like he had never kissed a girl before. He sort of remember himself real fast after that, of course, but I love those few seconds before he leans down, the shots of his face.
Also - think I said this somewhere else, too - I'll admit that, despite the horrible graphics, I bawled my eyes out when Aeris died. Despite my love for writing Yuffie and Vincent, as a character I think Aeris is probably my favorite.

Okay, maybe I am just horribly morbid, but my favourite scene from FF7 actually has to be (and it's not even really a scene, or at least it's a two-second scene) when you're in the top levels of the Shinra building, Sephiroth has already made his way through there and the whole thing is littered with bodies. It is a blood-and-body confetti party. You get, if I recall, this slow pan through the building of the trail of blood where Seph has been, and every single time it chills my blood. Seph was a boogeyman villain, and he was best when the game didn't even show him, but just showed you what he could do.
I cried at the end of FFX. My brother and I both did. We sat there crying together. We then handed in our masculinity cards and swore to never tell anyone what had happened.
FFIX's scene with the black mages is some of the saddest stuff of all time. It is bawling rivers of blood sad.

This is repetitive of me, but while I do agree that that scene was definitely a good one, I think that what set it off the best was the eerie music that played - even during random encounters. Like, Nobuo Uematsu is a god amongst men, and that part showed it off really well IMO. As much as I disliked Aeris, I loved her theme, and the fact that it played just so during her death scene can still make me get a little teary-eyed.

Agreeing with the music, though they used sound in general fantastically: I think during the two second pan it is actually totally silent.
Aerith's theme is still something that can make me cry by listening to it. I think it was how they extended it out and and the first six opening notes are so laboured and quiet when she gets Masamune'd.

The black mages scene in IX! Just thinking about it makes me tear up! Ah *wipes eyes* one of the few scenes in a game that can get me to cry!

That is a very, very creepy-freaky-fuddy-duddy part. I was sort of glad that all of the dead bodies were, yunno, pixellated, because that theme really actually made those little hairs on the back of my neck stand up way-straight like they were going to flaminco dance.
I also like Kuja's theme, because it's just so Kuja. I love most of the music from FF9, despite never playing the game - I blew all of my money on my tablet, and working at a concession stand on a when-they-call basis for ten bucks isn't quite cutting it. ;__; I'm in the negatives. I owe my carpool-buddy for all of the cinnamon rolls she bought me at summer school.

Speaking of that scene in the Shinra building! I seriously got the creeps as I followed the trail of blood and found bodies all over the place. No joke. That music was giving me actual goosebumps. It has to be one of my absolute favorite parts, JUST for the creepiness. On the subject of creepiness, Edge in Dirge of Cerberus had me...well, on Edge. Those dog things would jump out and I would SCREAM BLOODY MURDER.

Greatest FF moment?
The first time I saw Yuffie run in Crisis Core. I almost died laughing. She runs just like my fave mini-ninjas in the Naruto fandom! Seriously, it's too funny- I'm stunned that I didn't put this up already.
Kishi has said that he is a Final Fantasy fan. I guess someone at Square is a Naruto fan too... ^_^

First: yes, Uematsu is a god of videogame music, along with Koji Kondo. Seriously, Aeris' Theme/Liberi Fatali/Hymn of the Fayth are what you get when you have Uematsu composing the music (that man is a freaking genuis)... and FFX-2 is what you get when you don't. D: Second: hearing Aeris' Theme - so sweet, so sad - just after her death when you're fighting the Jenova thing was enough to make me cry, seriously. It's always the music that causes me to choke up, really. And La, Aeris was one of my favorites as a character, too. *sniffle* Also, I can play Aeris' Theme on piano. Pen, if you ever come to Barcelona look me up and we can do an awesome piano-flute duet. =P

Maybe I should get a trombone (I do know how to play it, it was actually my specialty) and learn how to play Barret's theme.

I'm a flute player as well! My brother plays the clarinet and guitar, so we should OBVIOUSLY form a GA final fantasy music band. Yes, yes we should Best moments, I agree a LOT with the Shinra-bodies moment, I'd been playing the game late at night for about two hours and I just got there and my blood ran cold freakiest and most sinister moment EVER. One of my top five moments just *has* to be in IX when Steiner tries to go for Zidane and he waggles his tail at him, then he jumps up out of the way as Rusty pounces and hangs off the ceiling. XD

GA band? My musical fingers are tingling! I can play the piano, but I believe keyboardist is already taken. Lessee... I can play the clarinet and guitar also, but those are taken too >< Um... I call vocalist? OOH YEAH. That a was a particularly well-done scene. The trail of blood was really creepily cool. Not to mention Uematsu's brilliant composition to go along with it (Trail of Blood is one of my favorites, although everything on the FFVII OST is my favorite, really).

What about the scene in ff9 when Garnet completely glomps Zidane after the Alexander summoning? How cute was that? It's just so romantic and aw-worthy.

Ooh has anyone had Yuffie in their party when Aerith dies? She goes and looks at Aerith all shaky, then she goes and stands in front of Cloud and you can tell she's trying sooo hard not to cry, then she just breaks down and throws herself at Cloud who catches her and just hugs her while she cries, then she runs off. It's heartbreaking... The only reason why I found Aerith's death sad...

It's heartbreaking... The only reason why I found Aerith's death sad... I've actually got a save point that I go to and change the characters in my party to see all of their reactions. I think Yuffie's is possibly the most heartbreaking of them all, although Vincent looks like he's swearing an oath to avenge her when he's there, which is all kinds of awesome. Cid just sort of shakes his head sadly, like he doesn't know what to do and feels totally helpless. I luffs my Cid. *hugs him*
