Josephine saw the sign “Brentford Town” and sighed in relief. She had nearly broken the speed limit on her way here. No it wasn’t because she was impatient to get to the Maverick Mansion…
I need the ladies now damn it! The journey had taken longer than she had expected; Brentford was such a small town that she had gotten lost quite a few times trying to find it.
Her eyes quickly scanned her surroundings. No, not the gas station, the toilets there are disgusting! Ah, there’s a mall! That will be perfect. I can get something to drink and maybe even ask a few locals about the mansion.
She drove into the mall parking lot, parked her car and ran inside.

Normally, Dramaya wasn't fond of staring at people, but when she had glanced in the direction Steph indicated, her gaze lingered there for a few more seconds as her jaw dropped slightly. The 'Maverick Stalker'? What was he doing here when she had only just spotted him in front of the mansion? Wrenching her eyes away to look back at Steph, Dramaya shrugged.
"I dunno who he is, but I've seen him before", she told her. "I dunno if you've heard of the 'Maverick Stalker' before-- the guy who's always looking at the Maverick Mansion-- but that's him. As for who that girl is... let's play safe and assume it's his girlfriend."
All the while as Dramaya snuck another furtive glance at him, she was unaware of the girl named Josephine racing into the mall...

Josephine spotted a lavatory sign and for a moment her surrounding was forgotten. In her mad dash she bumped into two passing girls, the force knocking their smoothies out of their hands. The smoothies hit something or someone with a splat.

Steph stared at her new shirt. Smoothies. She knew they would destroy her someday.
"Aw, man!" she exclaimed. She smiled weakly at the girl who crashed into her. "It's all right," she said faintly. "I find stranger ways of meeting people every day," the brunette offered the girl her hand. "I'm Steph."
With her other hand, Steph grabbed the napkins she had so thoughtfully grabbed and put in her pocket. She tried to get the worst of the smoothie off her shirt.

“I’m really really sorry! That was very very careless of me.” She blushed. How could she be so clumsy! She just arrived and already she was making a mess. “Erm I’m Josephine by the way,” she said, taking the girl’s hand. “Hey guys, look, not to be rude or anything but I really need to go to the bathroom, I’ll be back in a minute.”
With that she sprinted to the bathroom and came out about two minutes later to find the two girls still waiting for her.
“Hi again, and sorry about that. I’ll get you a new shirt to change into. I’ll get you guys another smoothie too if you want.” She stared at both girls to see their reaction. After the offence she was unsure how to act around them and hoped they’d take the offer so she could make it up to them.

When Josephine had come keeling into them, Dramaya had been sent stumbling into Steph. Her smoothie had flown out of her hand, and at hearing a splat sound somewhere, she was dismayed to see the beverage had splattered onto the floor. Thankfully, however, she had mostly finished hers, and only a small amount had been spilled. Although she had been rather surprised and angered for a short moment, it was quickly replaced with friendliness as Josephine apologized.
"Oh please, no worries", Dramaya reassured her, smiling as well. "My name's Dramaya."
After the girl introduced herself as Josephine and rushed away to the restroom, Dramaya had taken some napkins from Steph to wipe up the mess from the floor, then disposed of them and the cup in a nearby trashcan. When Josephine had come back and offered to make reparations for the accident, Dramaya only shook her head with a smile, unwilling to blame her.
"Really, it's fine. I was just about done with mine anyways. Besides, I've been clumsier." Dramaya glanced at Steph, waiting for her response.

"Are you done yet?" Nicholas asked. He hated shopping with his sister, mainly because he was always stuck carrying her things. And most of the time his sister broke the bank and his back shopping.
"Yeah, there's nothing good here." Lisa handed him four bags. "Looks like you get off easy today bro."
"Ugh. The sad thing is that it's true." Nick shifted the weight around, trying to get comfortable. This is all for the book, this is all for the book.
They started to head over to the food court when Nicholas spotted someone familiar. It was the girl that lived next to Maverick Mansion. He saw her occasionally whenever he went near the mansion. Nicholas had a burning curiosity to ask her how living near the mansion was like. He imagined she must have seen some very interesting things.
He locked eyes with her. Hmm, now may be my chance. He walked forward...
And slipped on something, falling backwards and scattering the shopping bags everywhere.

As Dramaya had waited for Steph's response, she had again spotted the 'Maverick Stalker', heading towards the food court, loaded down with shopping bags. He wasn't that far away now either, and she was sure he had noticed her by now. She probably wasn't that unfamiliar to him either, as he had seen her a few times before too.
Dramaya hoped to avoid his attention this time, but that wish went ungranted. In fact, he had locked eye contact with her, and had began to walk right towards her. She froze, looking away shyly as fast as possible.
No, he's not going to come over here, she fervently told herself. He's just... passing by...
With that hope in mind, she had taken to ignoring him-- at least, until he had slipped and fallen backwards, sending the shopping bags flying. It was a moment of debate for Dramaya. But, an urge to help him overcame her timidness, and she rushed forward.
"Hey, are you all right?" she asked at once, holding out her hand to him.

April couldn't blieve her rotten luck today- or maybe the complete lack thereof...
The yard's gate was locked but catching Duchess would be easier if Thor wasn't scaring her with his excitable antics.
She could hear the great Dane barking and it sounded like he was at the far corner of the yard... That couldn't be good but usually her cat was smart enough to simply run out and then back in through another pet door.
April ran through the thickly forested lawn of the home she'd only lived in for a few weeks. She was keenly aware that it sounded like Thor was barking at something on Maverick Mansion's side of the wall...
I hope that Dramaya and none of her friends see my idiot dog going nuts out here...
Unfortunately, the neighbors turned out to be the least of her worries when she reached the property's wall. Duchess bounded over a sagging part of the old wall and into the other mansion's yard!

Yes I am playing. Yes I am self-insert. Maybe I could be comic relief. I am random.
---
Stella slunk away from the old lady beside her, saying, "I'll be back home at six, grandmama, I see my friends now" in Cantonese. "Liar," she thought to herself. "They're not here, but ugh...I just have to get away."
She headed towards the food court, hurrying while trying not to look stupid barreling through the throngs of people.
"The humiliation! The pain! The shopping for pads with my grandmother! What did I ever do to deserve this?" Stella wailed in her head.
Stella rarely went out to the mall (she had a horrific impulse to buy everything, leading her to come to the mall with only ten dollars in her pocket every time she shopped). She strode up to the Sbarro counter and placed her order. "A slice of that -" she poked her finger against the glass trying to indicate the pizza, and, squinting at the sign above the clerk's head, "- and a small bowl of salad and potatoes, please."
"Forgot my contacts," she grumbled to herself, while the clerk rang up the order.
"Six dollars and forty-three cents, miss."
Stella dished out the money and waited for her order, tapping her foot against the tile. When her number was called out, she went over and picked it up, then looked for an empty table to sit at. She spotted one right next to the potted palm tree in the middle of the court, and quickly walked over to put her things down. But first, she took out a Kleenex and carefully wiped the crumbs off the table, then sat and took out a book, contentedly munching and reading at the same time - two tasks she could do at the same time, as opposed to throw a bowling ball and walk at the same time.
Suddenly, an avalanche of bags tumbled beside her table. Stella didn't even blink, turning the page while finishing up her potatoes.
"Watch it," she said distractedly to whatever klutz spilled Nordstrom blouses beside her boot, flipping another page and attempting to focus on the text that had font as big as her friend's hamster's rectum.

"Nick! Man, you are so clumsy! Look at all my bags!" Lisa whined.
Nicholas rolled his eyes. Of course Lisa would say that. Hasn't changed a bit.
He sat up and saw a hand stretched out in front of him. Nicholas followed the hand up to the face and realized it was her. The girl who lived near Maverick Mansion.
He took her hand and pulled himself up. "Thanks." he muttered, feeling very awkward.
"So...you live next to Maverick Mansion right?"
At her nod, he immediately started to barrage her with questions. "How is it living near there? Do ever see anything cool? How long have you lived there? Have you ever gone inside?"

Sitting close to the group, forcefully ignoring the half-eaten sandwish in front of her, Eva studdied the group. It fascinated her, how some people could meet each other in some dramatic way that often did not end up good, and then act as if they had been best friends since the dawn of time. Just take the smoothie-incident: if it had been her she would have been p****d of. Even if the girl who caused the fiasco asked for forgiveness. And then, if the girl would offer to get her new clothes, of course she would accept! Now, Eva was not very obsessed with clothes, but she was pretty thrifty. Stingy, some would say. And she never denied it, either. Ah well, if they made friends like that, good for them.
Damn, she was utterly bored. Sitting alone, dressed in black and with more black makeup than someone would use for halloween, she was not really asking for strangers to talk to her. Along with her purple hair and the heavy metal that could be heard from the headphones that, for now, hung abound her neck, she looked like the usual goth kid, someone people avoided as if she would bite them if they talked to her or came too close. It had its advantages; noone bothered her if she did not want to.
Her train of thoughts about the world in general derailed forcefully when the boy joined the group though. Or rather, when he slipped and fell, sending bags everywhere. A smirk slipped over her pale lips, before it escalated into a bright laugh. Yes, Eva could be malicious, but she could not help herself. She buried her face in her arms, facedown on the table (after making sure to move the sandwish), shoulders shaking with laughter.

Josephine was glad these girls were being kind and understanding about the whole situation. The last thing she needed was facing hostile teenagers in a foreign town. Dramaya had declined her offer of new smoothies and she was waiting for Steph to reply when a distraction came in the form of a boy slipping and falling backwards on the floor, his shopping bags flying all around him. This afternoon was turning out to be full of accidents; she could only hope there wouldn’t be more.
Dramaya offered the boy her hand, something Josephine was too shy to do. He quickly accepted it and thanked her, but his next question shocked her. Dramaya lives next to the Maverick Mansion? Then maybe she could help her, or at least tell her more about the mansion. The boy beat her to it though, because the next thing he did was ask her a stream of questions about the mansion. It could be that he was just curious, but maybe, just maybe, he was highly interested just as she was. Then it would be a matter of somehow getting him to accompany her to explore the place. It wouldn’t hurt to have a companion inside a possibly haunted mansion.

"How is it living near there? Do ever see anything cool? How long have you lived there? Have you ever gone inside?"
The 'Maverick Stalker' nearly bowled her over with his deluge of questions, and Dramaya barely had a chance to answer the first one before he would ask the next, making her almost forget them. It was something she knew she should have expected, especially from someone like him, and for a moment she almost regretted having helped him up in the first place.
"Ah... I've lived there for about nine years", she answered, rather sheepishly as she tried to recall his questions. "It's very creepy, living around there. Yeah, I have seen things, but I wouldn't exactly call them cool. And no, I wouldn't set foot inside that place. Living next door is terrifying enough."
Preparing herself for him to pick apart her replies and to interrogate her further, she found herself glancing back at Steph and Josephine. There was shock written across the latter's face, an expression Dramaya often saw whenever people heard she lived next to the Maverick Mansion. She had grown used to it by now, though.

Sorry it took me so long, guys!!!
---
Steph smiled at Josephine as Drama was being pummelled with questions. "Sure, a shirt and a smoothie sound like a pretty good deal to me. It's a pleasure to meet you, Josephine. You wanna hang out with us after this guy's done interrogating Drama?"
She smiled at the girl, and, while she was waiting for a response, started helping Stalker's sister/girlfriend/friend pick up all the stuff he had dropped.
