Guys, this is just a reminder to spread the word about GA. The more people who nominate or join the forum, the better. There are plenty of suggestions in this thread, but if anyone has any ideas about advertising, I'd love to hear them. I think it would be useful to have a banner which links to the forum, but alas, I lack the skill to make one. If anyone is up for making one, I'd be very grateful.

I may be able to help you out there! Just give me a few minutes and all shall become clear... EDITOk, so I made this ages ago, even before I offered to do the other banners. But its been buried away on my laptop for a while now, and I only just rediscovered it today. Not the best thing in the world, but what do you think?

Ooh, love the AC background there! One thing though...maybe Final Fantasy VII fanfiction would be more accurate?
I'm ready to spam LJ communities again if somebody could teach me how to embed the banner with the link... *rolls up sleeves*

If you mean something like that, NRG, where the picture is the link, the code is (sans spaces)... [ url = genesisawards.proboards100.com ][ IMG ] image link.jpg[ /IMG ][/url ] Alternatively, depending on the site, it may use html code, which I'm not as sure about. I think it would be along the lines of (underscore means a real space): <a_href = "genesisawards.proboards100.com"><img="image link.jpg"></img></a>

I've been messing around with video-captured banners recently, so if anyone wants some .gifs captured directly from a video source let me know and I'll see what I can do. Edit: The end results of me being bored in programming class. The quality's kinda crappy, unfortunately. Lemme know what you think.

Bump for attention. Never mind my old post, how's about this one? Opinions? There's a miniscule alignment error in one of the last few frames that I'll fix tomorrow, and the video quality is bad, something I'm also working on.

They look incredible, YAC! Should I wait for the final product?

They look incredible, YAC! Should I wait for the final product? I'll post one that has the alignment error fixed later today. Improving the video quality is pretty much undoable without actually paying for the software, and I'm cheap so I won't be doing that. >.> Edit: I lied, did manage to improve the video quality somewhat, and without spending a penny. Tada: I intend to make one more...probly with a clip from the Tifa vs Loz scene.

I've tried both methods on LJ and neither work because the picture itself always has to be linked to the journal entry (which means that the link it follows is to the picture source). Unless I'm missing something obvious.

Did you save it to your own comp and then upload it yourself onto photobucket or something? 'Cause otherwise it won't work. (Apologies if I'm offending your intelligence and you've already done this xD)

(Apologies if I'm offending your intelligence and you've already done this xD) I suppose I should consider myself offended. I also tried uploading it to scrapbook: same problem. The images are links themselves, making another link impossible, I think. You could try it yourself- there may be some html trick that someone like me just doesn't know.
