I think character-wise, you could draw parallels between many Final Fantasies. Tidus = Zidane Yuna = Garnet Lulu = Beatrix Wakka = Steiner Rikku = Eiko I just made that up on the spot. I think FFX is supposed to have parallels with FFVII though, especially with the Farplane which resembles the Lifestream, and the kid called Shinra who thinks the energy of the Farplane can be harnessed...

^ I agree about the FFV11 bit Well FFX is an interesting game for me. I was looking forward to it very much and the first time I played it I did enjoy it, but just a few things annoyed me about the game. Firstly, I didn't like the fact that Tidus's name was never mentioned (at least I don't think so, I've never actually finished the game haha. I got stuck on one part and gave up, and I'm pretty sure I was nearly finished too.) TBH I wasn't that keen on the voice actoing either, but for some reason I kinda liked Tidus' voice lol. And I really didn't like the battle system whatsoever. The sphere grid took me weeks to figure out! Very confuggling, unless I'm just a bit stupid ;D After playing it for a while though I warmed to the game and I really like Yuna and Tidus' relationship and I liked Rikku alot too. Seymour made me laugh, so I loved him aswell.

I used to like Tidus and Yuna... And then I played VII and saw how boring it was compared to the relationships in that. Still, they are undeniably sweet. I'm stuck on X as well, but I'm nowhere near the end, I can't beat Seymour when he first turns into that thing that reminds me of Jenova... So I'm playing X-2 atm, which is fun

If there is one thing about X that drove me up the wall, it is Seymore's hair.
OMG! As if the way he spoke wasn't stuffy and ridiculous enough they just had to give him hair that would make a chocobo look twice...Then let's not even mention the ugly blue veins in his face and whatnot! All I can say is EEWW as if the guado weren't weird enough they just had to breed one with a human...
How could Yuna even THINK about marrying that thing...
I love to hate Seymore but I don't like his appearance one bit. All the people writing Yuna/Seymore fics out there scare me...

I think the religious society of FFX really added to the depth of the world. The different races were done very well too, the way they all fitted in, and the prejudice against the Al Bhed. And yes, Seymour's hair is silly.

Final Fantasy X this game I can't even explain it. It was like a revelation to me before I played this game I played solely for entrainment purposes. This was the first game that kept late up in the night just to see the next cut scene. I fell in love with the characters and even played mutable times just to get a better look into there lives, from the side conversations concerning Wakka's past to observing what different answers would hold in the future to finally beating that first fateful Blitzball game. Yeah I had no problems with any of the characters and about Seymour weren't you suppose to hate him he was the most persistent self serving son of a gun I ever had the pleasure of deleting. I actually really really enjoyed the battle system in fact I still get that nostalgic feel when I hear the battle music. I took the sphere grid like a fish to water the only thing that got on my nerves right after you get Auron there are no skill spheres any where. I was actually disappointed when I played FFX2 to find they changed the system (This was back in happy age my house had dial up). And I went through all that work on FFX2 to see Tidius and Yuna what hug a little conversation would of been nice. Blitzball was easy once you got a decent golly (no offense to the midget Keepa). Also I would have to say the chocobo mini game rivaled the racing in 7 how annoying it was after a point in 7 it was monkey work (if you had the gill and a little help from Game FAQs). Good times Good times

There was a secret ending in X-2 where they do have a conversation, and she pushes him into a pond in Zanarkand. It's really sweet, look it up on youtube!

I remember that.
It was adorable... But it's not like Tidus was ever afraid to get wet though, eh? ^_^

True, that kiss scene is adorable. It's what got me into final fantasy, fearandloathing got to that part in the game and made me come round her house and watch the cutscene on her game ^_^
One weird thing about X though, they all seem to be able to breathe underwater.

Its because they all have gills... I noticed that too, I think they are just meant to be able to hold their breaths for long periods of time. I myself would not have fun trying to play blitzball, I think. I don't know hope well you'd actually be able to move underwater in a giant fish bowl, but hey, it sure looked cool in the opening movie

Well, my story is that I tried to play FFX at one point, got REALLY annoyed with Tidus, said "Screw this" and played Kingdom Hearts 2, and now I'm playing it again. I've been spoiled for the ending by reading some fanfiction, and have fallen heavily in love with Auron/Rikku (don't kill me), which sometimes rivals my love for Yuffie/Vincent (the only problem is that there is a scarcity for competent writers in both of those pairings).
And now, as I get really far into the game, I find I actually like Tidus, despite the fact that he does some really stupid stuff sometimes. One thing I hate about Yuna is how she talks.
"I...must defeat...Sin. I...am...a...summoner."
SPIT IT OUT ALREADY, JEEZ! I swear she pauses every three words.
I love a lot of the characters in FFX, as I tend to love the nuances of pretty much every somewhat significant character in every game.
Uh...*raises hand* I think Seymour's pretty and I love his unusual appearance and his stupid voice. There, glad I got that out of my system.
And did anyone else think that scene on the airship is hilarious when they find out fiends are on board and it goes something like this:
Cid: Well we'll just have to-- Rikku: *pops up and imitates his voice* Go down with the ship like heroes! Come on, let the professionals handle this.
Yeah, I know probably not even CLOSE to what they say, but it's the gist and I freaking love that scene, especially since I really love Rikku.
And for some reason, I have this ardent Wakka-love going on, and I own X-2 but I don't think I've ever really gotten past the part where we find out Wakka and Lulu got together (which was THRILLING for me, since that's such an interesting situation).
...but...one thing. Seriously. VIDINA? WHAT?
Also...I think Jecht is a sexy mofo and I want half-pants like his.

I got Jecht in a what FF character are you quiz, I was the only one who had got it ever ^_^
Fearandloathing agrees with the Yuna can't speak thing, something about a goodbye sphere... I haven't got to that bit yet ^_^
I would find her annoying if it wasn't for the fact that I am in love with the sending cutscene and that her and Tidus are unbelievably sweet.

THANKYOU!!! *hi-fives* Finally someone else who wants to slap Yuna into talking NORMALLY! I think it's kimari, he mutsa passed on the talk. in. little. bits. thing. The goodbye sphere scene is the worst for that, I wanted to punch her, i really did. Also loved your Jhect comment XDD Hee hee

I remember hearing that the voice actress for Yuna tried to match her voice with every single mouth movement.
I thought she was ok honestly. I've heard way worse voice acting.
