We should steal it. And tell naysayers to choke on it. >.>

I chose the best one I could find for the short term. But I'd rather have a customized layout with pretty FF7 graphics and such. I just can't hold a candle to Hannah's abilities.

I was thinking it might be nice to have a new section in the new forums for other fandoms - we've got a couple threads scattered around (ie the Naruto one) but personally I'd love to have a place to discuss other fandoms with such awesome writers.

I actually think that's an excellent idea, YAC. I'll bring it up with the other admins.

I agree with Yaccy - it'd be nice to be able to discuss Naruto here aswell. I've been to Naruto forums, but there's just too many people I don't know and everyone's a bit aggressive in getting their OTP across.

I need to ask - who amongst us would be interested in an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) room for the Genesis Awards? My IRC boss said I'm free to make whatever rooms I want so we have a free, relatively unregulated place to set it up, with a swearfilter we can use if we want.

I think a chatroom'd be worth a shot, at least; if it's easy to do, we can set it up and see how it goes. It'd be especially nice for those of us that don't have msn (like yours truly).

I think its worth a go, but you already know that! ;D It'd be especially nice for those of us that don't have msn (like yours truly). This should be reason enough! You know, so we can annoy hang out with Sylla... Also, so you guys know, we are still planning the move. We've come across some technical difficulties, though, so things are having to be pushed back a little. That doesn't mean that you can stop throwing ideas and suggestions at us, though!

Technical difficulties and the fact that I have to fix my husband's PC and the car lol. Awesome win time! So yeah, I talked to ZidaneT (my IRC admin, who you all got randomly introduced to in the Twilight thread -.-) and he said it's 100 percent fine to set up a chat room or two - he actually said that in our case we could have #genesisawards and #genesisjudges, with one password-protected for the judges and admin - AND that he could customize the Java applet for me so I could plop the chat rooms with the Java IRC client right on to the site. I figured that way more people might use it since there's no special software to download (although I prefer IRC clients and would provide a tutorial to use them). The best part is that there's a built-in swearfilter and I as a server operator can activate it at will. ^_^ The substitutions are hilarious, too. I helped build the swearfilter - Zid is fond of saying that Cally and I contributed 90 percent of it, actually. Anyway, if anyone wants to try out IRC let me know and I'll set up a room and get the swearfilter activated and such and we can all hang out. XD As of right now the Java applet is a no-go, cuz Zid would need the time to set it up for me, but if anyone wants to use an IRC client to test out the chatty goodness, I recommend IceChat for IRC noobs, or mIRC for the more experienced. If you have Linux you can use Xchat, and Colloquy is the best client for the Mac. Let me know!

I'd say yes, but I'm currently situated half a world away from everyone else, and I've no hopes of moving anywhere closer. Ohwells.
I say go for it, but I probably won't be able to participate.

Why? I'm in my IRC chat room all times the day, ranging from 8 a.m. to 4 a.m., depending on how late I'm up. There's bound to be someone hanging out occasionally, if only me. XD

XD Thats true, and I'm normally logged into msn most the time, unless I'm at a lecture or something (and even then it normally just says 'away'). Besides, I've noticed that you're normally logged into the forum at the same time as me, Moira...

*waves* But I'm at GMT +8! Isn't that really far away?
(though, given, I can converse with Hope pretty well.)

Yeah, but lets say you finish school at 6 (random time), it'll be 10am here. Granted I normally have a lecture at 10, but I'm normally around afterwards procrastinating working. And Hope is also a final year student I think, which means very few lectures and lots of dissertaion work to avoid... But basically, Moira, just because you're so far ahead of the majority of the forum, don't think that you'll be left out.
