Don't let fear hear you say that I didn't like Balthier at first, but... I dunno he's just so suave and his accent is to die for There is nothing like a proper British accent for sheer sexy

I'm all about the Irish accents, sorry.
No, seriously, I knew this Irish guy, an immigrant, and he was the ugliest mofo I've ever met, but I could just listen to him talk for hours and hours......*happy sigh* On the plus side he WAS really nice.
But yeah, Balthier didn't really do it for me. I don't go for the suave, sexy sort, as is evidenced by my obsessive burning love of Cid mother@(#&&%ing Highwind! XD

Yeah Irish is definately lovely too... Fear's the one who'se into the proper british accents in a big way though, I can just see the attraction... You'd think I'd come across that kind of accent every day living in, you know, england, but a south east London accent is entirely different and not nearly as lovely, trust me

^ I have all sorts of diverse tastes but mainly older men, which gets me enough grief as it is from my friends. ^.^" As far as video game characters are concerned... um, you could probably guess Auron. Zalbag from FFT. Basch and his twin. *cough* Balthier's the kind of person I despise in real life but he had the whole Han/Leia angle going on with Ashe, which I found cute, but FFXII failed to expand on it. Balthier: the only good thing about FFXII. XD Wuuuuut? D: No wai! I love FFXII - ESPECIALLY QUICKENINGS. And I actually kinda dislike Bathier, but that icon was seriously priceless. XD The expression went with it perfectly. It's pretty and shiny but the storyline, which had the potential to be great, ended up whitewashed because there wasn't enough emphasis on character development. I didn't care a tenth as much about what happened to Vaan as I did what happened to Cloud or Squall or... actually, pretty much any playable FF character. The Quickenings were a cool idea but they were really unbalanced. Levelling in that game was strange. I remember I'd be on the brink of death, getting my *ss whooped in a boss battle because I was severely under-levelled and by bringing out a Quickening I'd just manage to get through. That's kinda like using Selphie's The End. For me, there wasn't enough interaction between the main characters. I didn't really get to "know" them on the same level as I did Cloud so I didn't wind up caring about them. Also there's the pain of defeating Yiazmat after 4+ hours only to be rewarded with a piece of crap sword. Oh, and thanks leaf! Which reminds me, if anyone would like to snag them for use on livejournal please credit coconutty_tree (ah, the joys of a randomly generated name.) Feel free to add me too. My posts seem to alternately fangirl and complain but if you can handle that...

Let's see... I get my screenshots and stuff from either bluelaguna.net or I look up the video and manually take the screenshot.
But your icons are really nice ^_^

Yeah, I wasn't happy with the lack of character development, but the music was good and the gameplay original-ish. I still haven't beaten it yet. But I did love the game, although Balthier was definitely not one of the reasons I kept playing.
Actually, I'm quite fond of Basch. He's the only character I like so far. Ashe is like Yuna with a really horrible, aristocratic attitude, so I just wanted to slap her silly, and Balthier and Fran both kinda annoy me. Vaan can go die in a well with Penello for all I care, as I dislike them both greatly. But Basch. Mmm. I liked him. Quite a bit.

Hmm. I found the music uninspiring, to be honest. But then, I'm one of those people who listens to FF OST's on their iPod so... (IX had the best music but the others were great too. XII and DoC... I didn't really enjoy theirs so much.)
Why didn't they leave Basch as the main character? *pouts*

I am also a fan of the FF OST's. Actually, I wrote a whole column about it when I wrote for my local paper. I luffs them. I did like the FFXII soundtrack, but maybe that was just because I was so relieved it wasn't a re-hash of the FFX-2 soundtrack. Which sucked.
My favorite is probably the soundtrack from FFX, although I like the remixes of the FF7 stuff they did for Crisis Core. Actually, what drew me to FF7 in the first place was the soundtrack - the battle music in particular the first time I heard it I was like "I SO LOVE THIS GAME!" So music in a game is important to me, although my standards have been lowered to "hoping it's not another X-2 debacle."
