I played the frog catching mini game until I had 99 frogs. Then, Frog Drop pwned with damage, and I also got Quina's magic SPORK... (ok, it's not actually a spork, but a fork; I'm just pretending.)
The tricky thing was making sure you left one female and one male frog, just so the pond would repopulate faster.
The fact that Vivi was raised by one of the Qu (that's what they were called, right?) is awesome, too. Heck, Vivi is all around awesome and adorable!

Oh yeah, Vivi's grandfather was cool. If you go to his cave, you can find his diary where he talks about raising Vivi. Six months after he first found Vivi, he comments, "Still too small to eat." There are so many awesome things about FFIX. Vivi is definitely one of them.

I'm emulating IX, which means I don't have analouge control so that frog-mini game is THE HARDEST THING EVER.
Which sucks.

Vivi is a black mage, and if you play FFIX, you find out lots more about his background and how he came into existence. It's quite sad, really.

That was one of the best things about IX, and Vivi, he had such a conflict and character. And it is sad, Vivi's so alone in a way, and he's so young and just wants a home. But everyone in IX was learning something in a way, that was one of it best features. Because although I love the game dearly, XII had no storyline, and the characters were just hanging around because they had nothing better to do. Some people I know said the IX's story just got random and crap towards the end, but I think it's bloody amazing, so much is explained but its all so painful and Zidane is torn every which way. But I'll stop ranting now

Moogles look very different in every FF game indiochink.deviantart.com/art/Final-Fantasy-Moogles-4626511But they really took it too far in XII. That is not a moogle, that is a small rodent in clothes. I have nothing against small rodents in clothes, just don't label them as moogles kupo.

I heart moogles, period. Ever since FFVI and Locke & Terra were saved by the moogle village, I have loved them. ;D
I like them best when they're fluffy and rounder than they are in XII. Not as round as Crystal Chronicals moogles, but more like the traditional ones. And KH moogles are adorable, too!
I love in IX how they're so protectie of their deely-boppers. xD
Regarding Vivi... I wonder what would happen if someone took off his hat. Or took the hat off of /any/ of the Black Mages. 8 Bit Theatre offers some explanation for that, but I hardly think that counts. Heh.

Best thing about crystal chronicle moogles: you could shave and paint them. Now that was hilarious.

And it is sad, Vivi's so alone in a way, and he's so young and just wants a home. Oh, I know, I thought it was so sweet and poignant how all the Genomes ended up living with the black mages. They both needed to learn how to live and find a purpose for their own existence. I think that's one of the major themes of FFIX. Every character is searching for something, looking for meaning in their lives. Yeah, every character has their own personal journey, even Quina. You mean their pompoms? They're so cute. I wrote Stiltzkin being all protective over his pompom. ;D

Still, they didn't do the rat thing justice there. (BTW I have nothing against rats, I actually really want a pet one and might be getting one. I just don't think you can dress them up and call them moogles) images.wikia.com/finalfantasy/images/e/e7/XII-moogles.jpgI guess you could call them cute. But in a very different way. Anyway, just because they look cute doesn't mean they don't rock. Apparently in IX one calls you a b*****d.

I have nothing against small rodents in clothes, just don't label them as moogles kupo. That was their look from FF:Tactics Advance, which was also set in Ivalice. In the Clan Hall, you'll see Montblanc, he was a major character from FF:TA. I guess S-E liked the look of the ratty moogle and decided to keep it for 12, seeing as they actually have a purpose in the game's society rather than allowing you to use a damned tent and save your game. (And force you, at pom-pom point, to deliver their damn mail). FF9 has been my favourite FF so far (it was also my first). Though I have never played 7 or 8.
