Well I got the okay to do this here so here it shall be. Basically if you have no idea what an AMV is it's an Anime Music Video. YouTube is filled with them. I've created this thread for our favorites or own creations to be posted, as hours of work go into perfecting these things it's only natural to conclude them as art. So here it is. Hope I did this right. To start it out I'll post my very first AMV. Of course it's FF7 and an over all theme of it is very lyrical, though the video is set more to the guitar in the music. The song is "The Hell Song" by Sum 41. I understand it's not perfect but perhaps we can build a nice library here. Hopefully. www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLOCaV0E7JEShadow Story

I know. I foud it by accident a few months ago, and it's been at the top of my list ever since!
I've just watched yours. It's pretty good! What I've always wondered is how people get the clips from the movies. Do they use some kind of video capture software or something?

Hey, Shadow Story, just to let you know, I left a comment for your vid. Just some advice and whatnot, and how much I enjoyed it. ^_^ I'm also an AMV maker; it's been kind of a side hobby ever since I found out my Mac had a decent movie maker installed already. I've got about six AMVs in total on my YouTube account, although two of them are remakes I've done, and all of them are Final Fantasy (X-2 and Advent Children, respectively). I'll just put the links to the ones I'd prefer people to see. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWXh-ontXhU ~ A remake of my first AMV. It's Final Fantasy X-2 set to Evanescence's "Anything For You", and I managed to make it look like Yuna's singing it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0dnawQ29Lc ~ Another remake I did of my second AMV, which was this time set to Advent Children and Fuel's "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)." www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsUsV8bAAjs ~ Here's my third AMV, which was an SHM tribute (obviously another AC vid). It's "Our Truth" by Lacuna Coil, a song which is rather suitable for them. I also posted the link in another thread here on GA. www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVbc27j2Fiw ~ And, last but not least, my fourth and most recent AMV. This one is solely a Kadaj tribute, where I've used "The Clincher", by Chevelle. Well, that's all I've got to dish out now. I'll post some vids next time that I've found were extremely well done. For ripping my Advent Children DVD onto my computer, I downloaded a free software called HandBrake, or MediaFork. I've got the whole of AC on my computer now, so I can pretty much watch it anytime I want. To find it, I think you just need to Google it or something. I don't really remember how I got it, except it was through a friend's help.

The use of words expressing more than that of their literal intention! Now that. Is. Irony.

I tried using Handbreak, but it didn't like my Advent Children DVD... Here's Blue Oyster Cult's ' Don't Fear the Reaper'. www.youtube.com/watch?v=shEbyzbSyXgHehe, I told you I've got tons of these...

We already have a thread about this but... meh, never mind. I directed this... I didn't actually make it but I picked all the clips and the parts of the song they should go with. www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjMt2qVGldsI know this song is used all the time for Cloud/Aerith but I thought it fitted Cloud/Tifa too. EDIT: The song is My Immortal by Evanescance btw, forgot to say that

Oooo, just need to put the link to this one vid before I go to bed... www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HxDHsuuLzI ~ This masterpiece is set to Metallica's "Unforgiven II", and it won Best Drama at Anime Boston 2007, which is seriously no surprise. The way she put together the vid is genius, and it's only her third one, apparently. It's really astounding. I could never make a vid this good.

Mmm, it was good, Dramaya. But hey, you did make a pretty good video yourself. I can't even make a bad one.

;D Aww, thanks again! Just another link I have to post, because I'm glad to finally have a place to obsess about my favorite vids... www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0JF9L969FI ~ Now this one won three awards at separate conventions, and the vids this one director churns out are all really well made. The song for this AMV is called "Under The Star of Destiny", and it's from Soul Caliber, I think. The directer really makes good use of special effects, and they're not used excessively-- rather, it really helps to flow along with the song.

This is the AMV that made me want to learn to make these crazy things... It's a Zack/Cloud tribute from Last Order set to the song If Everyone Cared, by Nickleback... www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6fRHixLS6A
