So now that I've purchased the appropriate software, it is time to start taking names.
Requirements for the podcast volunteers:
1. You must own a microphone of your own. At this point in time the Genesis Awards cannot furnish you with one. It must be of relatively decent quality.
2. You must be able to meet at least once a week - one week to plan the podcast out, preferably in IRC or some other chat medium, and one week to record. Plan on about two to three hours per meeting.
3. You must have a relatively good grasp on most of the Final Fantasy series, must be well-versed in Final Fantasy Seven and it's Compilation, and must enjoy gaming as a whole.
4. You must have some sort of participatory role in fandom, past or present, be it through creating AMV's, writing fanfiction, beta-reading, or coming up with theories.
5. You must have access to the VoiP program Skype.
6. You must have your own computer, or a computer that you can access at a time that will be convenient for most of the people involved, without interruptions (or with as few as possible).
7. You must be able to have a recording setting. This means a room with relatively decent soundproofing where you will be unlikely to be interrupted by barking dogs, mewling cats, screaming siblings, or angry parents. A few interruptions are okay - massive interruptions are not.
8. You must have a relatively pleasant speaking voice. It doesn't have to be musical or lyrical, but it must not be downright unpleasant to listen to. Be prepared to prove this via Skype or Snapvine or something along those lines.
9. You must be at least 16 years of age or older. I apologize to our younger readers but this is for liability's sake. There's a good chance that any discussions we may have will wind up being adult in nature and while I will endeavor to censor out any swear words and grossly sexual descriptions, since this is happening in real-time for *us*, we want to make certain it won't p**s anyone's parents off.
10. Above all else, you must have something to contribute. If you're good at reading things off by rote, you could do news, or if you are good at coming up with theories, you could have a section dedicated to that. If you're a good beta-reader, you could do grammar tips. Etc. If you think you have a strong personality and can make the Shinra News Network podcast better than it would be without you, feel free to apply.
Apply by posting in this thread.
